Viji darling so good to see you again. Last time you ran off to your mummy crying or something like that. Such a shame, especially a grown married man. Well never mind all, that. So basically if the UCC comes in, then only a certain minority will whine. Hope this helps.

debate on what
by poovannan ganapathy on Apr 20, 2009 04:21 PM  | Hide replies

is it uniform civil code-advani will wax eloquently on how constitution framers wanted it and various supreme court judgements conveniently forgotting we cannot have a military uniform code(the most disciplined organisation has shaving daily a must but to sikhs its relaxed as its part of their religion)leave alone a uniform civil code.he will say heee heeee when asked what will be permitted in uniform civil code the south indian practise of marrying their own uncles/uncles children or the north indian practise of not marrying in the gothra of father/mother/ and fathers mother. we already have special marriages act for couples who doesnt beleive in religion and are marrying inter religion and the minimum age of marriage is 18 across all communities.its broken by majority of hindus in rajasthan/gujarat and all places where the bjp has a presence and polygamy among hindus is no less than that among muslims.the benefits given to spouses of govt employees is to only one wife irrespective of all religions.i am not against uniform civil code and in favour of uniform civil code/military uniform code etc but keeping mum when it comes to sikhs as some mps are expected there and shouting against muslims is worse than what manmohan will do(he will not open his mouth)as he wants the votes of both sikhs and muslims.

advani manmohan debate
by poovannan ganapathy on Apr 20, 2009 04:08 PM  | Hide replies

what does advani want to discuss

is it reservation for obcs/dalits/women reservation bill(he can take a stand against reservation for dalit christians/dalit muslims arguing that castes r not there in those religions but will say hee hheee when asked why he supports reservation for dalit sikhs and buddhist sikhs which r also without castes which is peculiar to hindutva.manmohan cannot open his mouth has he wants christian dalit votes/hindu dalits/obcs/muslim dalits unlike advani who knows christian and muslim dalits will any way not vote for him
is it cauvery water dispute(he can take a blatant anti tamilnadu position as his party is a zero in tamilnadu unlike congress which wants mps from both sides)
is it article 370 which says that nonkashmiris cannot buy land in kashmir(advani will shout loudly on how discriminatory it is but will be hee hee when pointed out that tribals too have the same privilege where tribal lands cannot be bought by nontribals in northeast and even in hindutvas lab gujarat.manmohan cannot talk as he wants both kashmiri vote as well as anti 370 vote.

is it srilankan tamils issue -where both can share their happiness on stage on the massacre of tamils in srilanka

is it kandhahar where advani will not remember anything while manmohan will shout in his squeaky voice
is it us nuclear deal-they both will discuss what is vetted by the american ambassodor in india

There you go again you little twat head. Looks like this is a case of cutting the cake and eating it as well. Why on earth should there be any need for reservations for those that have converted. I mean, they converted after they saw the light, or some "Only way to salvation" fundi drummed it into them or gave them some money - So why this talk of conversion.

Banning Parzania in Gujarat = Communal.
Banning Da Vinci Code and Jo Bole So Nihaal = Secular.

Kargil Attack = Government failure.
Chinese invasion in 1962 = Unfortunate betrayal.

Reservations in every school and college on caste lines = Secular. Reservations in Minority institutions = Communal.

Fake encounters in Gujarat [Sohrabuddin] = BJP Communalism.
Fake encounters under Cong-NCP in Maharashtra [Khwaja Younus] = Police atrocity.

Talking about Hindus and Hinduism appeasment = Communal. Talking about Muslims and Islam = Secular.

BJP freeing 3 terrorists to save 100 Indian hostages = Shameful
Congress freeing 4 militants to save just a life of one daughter of I Home minister in Kashmir [Rubina Sayed] = Natural Political dilemma.

Attack on Parliament = BJP ineptitude. Not hanging Afzal Guru the mastermind despite Supreme Court orders = Humanity and Political dilemma.

Let's have sharper debates
by raman govindan on Apr 19, 2009 05:01 PM  | Hide replies

most of the debates move around peripheral issues.
take the case of pakistan. no real discussion move around the real reasons for pakistan's hostility.
illeteracy; manmohan singh wants another 5 years for congress rule in the center. they have done nothing to make primary education compulsory all these years.
the role of india among world's nations: we do not know what others expect from us what we need to do and can do. pandit nehru was chums with castro, tito, nasser, sukarno. there is no sustainability of the same sort of relationship with people to people with the above countries.
secularism; there is no policy but vote bank policy and no real attempts towards scientific, rational, secular goal. even communists had fallen for the vote bank.

the grace is that our business persons are providing the lead. they perform without any party flag, without any statue, road, village being named after them, power real (electric and political), without any regional, linguistic , and mostly without any caste prejudices. there is no real discussion of their role commpared to bollywood, politicians (corrupt and not so) in the media. computer jargon "garbage in garbage out." most of the debates are of this class.

Since BJP released the three terrorists and one bjp minister escarted these terrorists to save 100 innocent passengers later pakistan dicided to have war against india and we lost more than 10000 innocent lives. later pakistan also thought that only terrorism is the way to gain their power they started terrorist activities through out india thinking that indian govt will escort the terrorists where ever they want to go and we lost many thousand lives. Is it not BJP who is responsible and lenient in their desicion making.

first let advani discuss with mallika
by poovannan ganapathy on Apr 19, 2009 12:52 AM

the last point in the column is significant as there has to be discussions between prospective finance/foreign/defence/health/railway ministers and not two oldies.there has to be discussion between the loksabha contestants and first advani has to debate with mallika as a candidate for gandhi nagar.
we r a parliamentary democracy with the cabinet supreme and hence the prospective cabinet should be known.the crocodile tears of advani for the illtreatment of ambedkar by congress can be exposed by the importance he gives to shourie who wrote a book to deride ambedkar after he was given bharat ratna(advani tries to take credit for it saying it was v p singh govt supported by bjp).

There is nothing wrong in criticising the PM if there is a reason to do so. He should be a man to accept those criticisms, and the same applies to the leader of opposition. It should be valid criticism of the holder of the office and not the office per se. Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka lashing at Advani is wrong, for it is Sonia who became an erstwhile PM and who made all the decisions. The PM was left, basically to make those decisions public, and in some cases he was completely silent. It is unfortunate that Dr. Singh has lowered his credentials in the eyes of Indians in India and abroad. Sorry Sir, Dr. Singh has got a lot to do to uplift his image. Past image cannot be reflected in a rusted mirror, as simple as that.

Why Advani was promoted as Deputy Prime Minister of India?
by New York on Apr 18, 2009 09:32 PM  | Hide replies

* Advani bribed an American journalist to write an adverse article about Vajpayee HEALTH in TIME magazine.
* Later Advani used this article to FORCE Vajpayee to appoint him as Deputy Prime Minister of India.

When was Advani given a chance to prove himself? He was the best home minister India ever had, and probably in the whole world in recent past.

Even after taking inhumane & severe punishment during Gandi's emergency rule, Mr. Advani pulled up his party from merely 2 seats to current position. He gave voice & courage to innumerable Indians.
