IAM A VOTER
by Sashi Nair on Apr 18, 2009 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

I AM A VOTER, PURE RUSTIC, DOING AGRICULTURE IN OTHERS FARM. BUT THANKS NARENDRA MODI, WHO DONE A LOT FOR POOR GARIB PEOPLE JUST LIKE US.

TODAY, YOUNGER OR OLDER, THAT DOESN'T MEAN FOR VOTERS, THE REAL ISSUE BEFORE THEM IS DAILY INCREASING PRICES OF NECESSARY PROVISIONS, UNEMPLOYMENT ETC, IN WHICH CONGRESS FAILED 101 PERCENT. DURING 60 YEARS OF PERIOD, CONGRESS COULD NOT DONE ANY THING IN THIS FACTOR, BUT WITHIN FEW YEARS, NARENDRA MODI COULD, SO WE WE ELECT BJP, WE HAVE HOPE IN THEM. SO WHY YOU CAN TRY ?

India Need Young Politician
by James lall on Apr 18, 2009 10:54 AM  | Hide replies

The issue in India is most of the leaders are crossed 70 age & rulling new Indian population of 64% Indian. If you compare the USA President He is young, UK Prime minister earlier Tony Blair was young & before he becoame old passed his crown to Brown, who is young. If you talk about Japan their Prime Minister is young, Australia,UAE,China & etc all are young. So choose young in place of old to secure good future.

US democracy and Indian democracy is different. If you join politics by the age of 20...it would take 10 years to climb in the local area....another 10 to become famous in the state level....another 20 years to come to national fame....another 10 yrs of hard work to become the party's top person and finally claim the top job.

Until and unless you have a Gandhi surname and party will promote you shamelessly...even if there are other people who have done a WAYYY better job than you.

In US...you just have to become a Congressman and flie nomination and debate it out for the top job.

Hence....2 democracies are not comparable.

Rahul & Piolet gives him hope .. and that is really alarming & shamedfull ..

These guys are just having their fathers legacy , nothing on their own. This is total nonsense..

Young Politicians should be elected on the basis of ability & not their fathers influence. The Yuvraj of the Congress - Rahul Gandhi is teh perfect example of an incompetent youth being placed for PM posts just because of belonging to Gandhi Family.

Under hs secretaryship Congress lost severely the Gujarat & UP elections. And still the shameless Gandhi dynasty wants him to be the prime minister

Need to look at India's problems from a new angle...
by SS Kumar on Apr 18, 2009 10:30 AM  | Hide replies

Every seemingly intractable problem has a solu-tion provided we can zero in on the right solu-tion. For instance, ages back, black marketing in railway reservations was common occurrence. Thanks to Laluji initiative in providing on line booking, this problem has disappeared completely else people in Mumbai used to pay a premium of up to Rs. 200 per ticket in black.
Same way, India has lakhs and lakhs of pending legal cases. Why not break down the cases segment wise, set up fast track courts headed by retired judges or even overseas expat judges and solve them in a defined time frame instead of letting them meander for decades, by which time, the defendant is dead in most cases ? Same way, CBI is clearly getting over-loaded. Why not have CBI have offices in each corruption prone state but reporting directly to its HQrs in Delhi. Every problem has a solu-tion provided we can zero in one the solution quickly. This requires an honest will as a pre-requisite to solve all burning issues.

Tatkal ticketing is a true example of how Railway has taken over the bribing from TTEs. What u used to give to the Coolie or TTE previously is now being given to the Rly department direct.

Instead of blaming the government for everything, why don't you learn to plan your travel schedules early enough. Thank God we have the Tatkal scheme without which you will never be able to travel out in an emergency. Even if you pay a blackmarketeer, you are never sure of your travel until you have reached your destination. The original ticket may have been bought in somebody's name whose age might be one half or double your age and you risk being deported half way thro' your journey. Which one do you prefer, travel with your self respect in tact or being "dumped" on platforms alien to you half way thro'?

'Young politicians give me hope' hope of what?
by sharda kejriwal on Apr 18, 2009 10:24 AM

Which young politicians you are talking about. All the young ones are related to old politicians. These politicians have given us "Corruption, population, poverty, low education levels and gender inequality are serious issues we're facing and now terrorism.
What has Rahul or for that matter Sonia, Indira Gandhi has given to Rai Bareli or Amethi from where the family has represented for the last so many years. Visit once either of the two constituency and you will see thye plight of the people there. When Rajib Gandhi was elected as P.M. he too was young but what he gave the country the Bofors scandal. "Look at the buses -- how crowded they are. And don't even get me started on the trains! They dig up our roads and take months to fill them up. Abroad, things are so organised." Why things are organised abroad and why it can not be done here. Because Abroad people are educated and the politicians are aware that people are watching. Here once they get elected they don't show their face till the next election. And the educated people don't vote so the people get elected by the uneducated voters who still vote in the name of Gandhi family. Unless people like you come out and say what is goos for the people than things might change or else there no hope.
