Public money!!
by Nayak Nayak on Apr 16, 2009 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

Actor-MP Vinod Khanna's each question in parliament has cost Rs.13 million (Rs.1.3 crore) of public money according to Punjab Election Watch (PEW), in information compiled about all 13 members of parliament from Punjab.
The information says that Khanna, who represents the backward Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency but resides mostly in Mumbai, raised just four questions in his five years (2004-09) as an MP and also participated in just four debates.

He has been elected MP from the border district of Gurdaspur three times in 1998, 1999 and 2004 on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He is seeking re-election for the fourth time now.

He claimed over Rs.4.9 million (Rs.49 lakhs) in salary, travel and other allowances. Khanna also got Rs.10 crore as Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund.

'His each day in the house costs the public Rs.690,204 according to PEW. There may be several of Khannas in Indian Parliament who enjoy at the cost of public money which tells a sad tale of Indian Democracy.

Why BJP and NDA should come to power
by Milind Kulkarni on Apr 16, 2009 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

Time has come to hang a government which could not hang a convicted terrorism. Since independence Congress has created fear psychosis among minorities and dalits about right wing parties like BJP. Now with this, Grand old party is a victim of fear psychosis itself but of a different kind. Fear of losing the minority votes. Any government which puts vote bank politics ahead of nation's security has no right to continue. We Indians the most tolerant of all people retaliate only pushed to the wall. Time has come to retaliate democratically. It is better to call a spade a spade rather than fear being branded as communal.

We need a strong & experienced leader like Advani than a rubber stamp PM like Manmohan Singh. This country has seen how Sonia takes all credit (if any) and hides behind the protection cover thrown by her shameless party men whenever she bungles. A leader is one who can take criticism and credit in equal stride and strive for the development of nation fearlessly.

India cannot afford a disaster like Manmohan or Sonia again. Perhaps even a bigger disaster in the waiting- Rahul Gandhi.

save ship(democracy) from tsunami(communal forces)
by raghunath on Apr 16, 2009 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

Analysis show Cong and UPA is best fit to rule the Nation
Here dependent variable considered as national parties(y)
Independent variable considered as People of the country(x)
Regression line analysis provides estimates of the dependent variable for a given value of the independent variable. The regression line is called the best fitted in the sense of minimizing the sum of squared errors.(least squares estimation) The best fitted line shows the relationship between the independent (x) and dependent (y) variables better than any other line. For developing the measure of the goodness of fit, we will first examine the variation in y. Let us try the variation in the response y. since y depends of x, if we change x then y will also change. In other words a part of variation in y is accounted by the variation in x’s .We can mathematically show that When R(regression line) negative, it means that y decreases as x increase and when R positive that is y increases when x increases. Thus R (regression line) gives a measure of strength of the relationship between the variables x and y. Now, the natural question is how large should this R be in order for the fit very good. There is a formal statistical test based on F distribution which can be used to test R is significantly large or not. But as a thumb rule we may say that if R is greater that 0.9, the fit is very good, if it is between 0.6 to 0.8, the fit is moderate and if it less than 0.5 it is not good(i.e called game number)

Nothing can be done unless more and more people are disenchanted and disillusioned with the non-working systems we have and pledge to change the ways things operate. Don't expect one person or few others to fix the system for us. We get what we deserve.

Manmohan Singh favourite in betting !
by Rahul on Apr 16, 2009 11:05 AM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appears to be a favourite as of now, unlike the NDA's prime ministerial candidate, L K Advani. While a rupee bet on Singh becoming PM will fetch you a profit of Rs 2.50 (1:2.5), in the BJP leader's case, it is 1:5. The chances of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati becoming PM appear to be slim with the odds at 1:25. NCP leader Sharad Pawar is better off at 1:8.

alliance after results should be banned
by jigar thakkar on Apr 16, 2009 11:05 AM

I would like to tell one thing, i.e. supreme court must ban alliance after results. I mean to say that supreme court must not allow those parties who fight differently in poll & then for the shake of power they make alliance after result comes. For example, RJD (Laloo), SP(Mulayam),LJP (pasvan), LEFT (Karat-chatterji-harkishan etc etc) BSP (Mayavati),Jaylalitha, Mamta have done so in the past. In Bihar rjd & congress fight against each other, in U.P. congress & SP fight with each other, In Bengal & Kerala LEFT parties & Congress party fight against each other. But after results, they make an alliance, saying that we are togather against secularism. But the metter of fact is that they are not togather for that but they are togather for power only.

Supreme court or Election Commission must give rulling that only pre-electrion alliance is authorised to form the government. For that if required, supreme court must make a law, whether these parties like that law or not.
