The government doest care for the citizens or the BSF jawans
by Chandan Mahato on Apr 16, 2009 06:46 PM

Why the state governments and Central Government dont take seriously the problem of Naxals. They are becoming stronger day by day.Does the life of people and BSF jawans have become so cheap? The Governments only wake up during the elections and they dont even come a single time in those areas for the people.I live in a small town in Jharkhand.Earlier the town wasnt that much effected by the Naxals during the bandh. But in recent days their powers have increased which can be seen during the Bandh. How long mothers will keep losing their children, wives their husband and children their father.I am talking of the BSF jawans.they are getting killed without any reason.every day or two we hear that some jawans got killed in the Naxalite areas. Why isnt the Government waking? Why should we vote if they dont hear us?It has been 8 long years since Jharkahnd got didvided.Till now we havent seen any stable State Government.8 Chief Minsters in 8 years. Its a record. No such signs of development as was promised during the division.Just Corruption everywhere.it has become the worst state of India.

Chidambaram should accept moral responsibility for this dismal performance and quit. It is shocking that these so called poor warriors called naxals kill poor soldiers who are only doing their duty.

Its a brainchild of the Communists
by TheKnackofFlying on Apr 16, 2009 06:41 PM  | Hide replies

make no mistake about it non-communist folks, these people have an active support of the communists. They are part of their hidden ajenda to kill democracy and plant communism and take the nation ages back. The communists are the worst enemies of this country, they allow daylight infiltration from Bangladesh in West Bengal , majority of counterfeit money routes from Kerala. Despite giving a notion of being non-corrupt people in Bengal are the most poverty stricken. Despite being in government for 4 years they have not been able to make corruption less prominent. Remember Naxalism is the illegitimate child of Communism and has support of the communists far and wide.

How do we solve this problem? How come there are so many of them and how come they are everywhere? That is the question. They are found even in places such as Chickmagalur in Karnataka and Salem/Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. I am not criticizing you or your message, I am equally aghast at this turn of events, but why are they spreading everywhere? How do we solve this problem?

Has anybody considered the possibility that the trainers/leaders and even a portion of the cadres of these Naxalites could be from the minority communities who can get easily support of ISI/other elements.

The Indian Communists gave birth to Naxalite movement in 1967 from a village called naxalbari, on the Indo Nepal border.
This concept has damaged West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Chhatisgarh and is spreading to other states as well.

The India govt has been ignoring this festering cancer by wishing it away.

Todays attacks leave only one option before the govt and that is to hand over all the naxal infested districts to the Army to wipe them out, without any govt/media/public/human rights interference or presence.

The Communist Party of India never supported violent revolution, even though the Chinese and Russian Communists criticised them for participating in democracy. The Naxalbari revolution was started by communist dissidents who were displeased with the CPI(M)'s policies. Please check your facts and history before hatching conspiracy theories.

The communists are shit scared of Naxalites, for Naxalites do not care for fat politboro's.
Naxalbari rose in Kerala at least because of the inefficiencies and non approachability of the communist leaders.
Naxalbari as with any other revolution thrives on only two factors - poverty and government apathy. Do you see that diminishing. Check all the other blogs, on this topic.
It is the war between those who have nothing to defend and those with skewered policies on what is economic growth and national pride.
Naxalism fails only after they come into power and they see power as absolute or not at all.
I am for the naxalites cos they defend the oppressed by attacking the oppressor spontaneously. I have seen RSS and Communist goons disowning their ideology in fright.

Naxalites and the common man
by xxx yyy on Apr 16, 2009 06:40 PM

If India is doing so great, then why are there Naxalites everywhere? It just reflects that we do not know the problems of the common man. The common man still lives in a village and has to struggle very hard. The ones (like me and you) who know English and computers are not the common man, nor do we represent him. The common man is more worried about his daily bread than anything else; so let us not blame him for voting somebody who promises cheap rice or lures him with gifts. The common man is trying to make the best of the deal. If you say that the Naxalites are forcing others, then the question is how come there are so many naxalites spread all over the country? Where did they spring up from if they do not have popular support? After all they are Indians too. Maybe they never had the opportunities we had. I know many are scared that Mayavathi or Mulayam may start dictating terms to the next Govt, if not head it. In the past the Janata Govt threw out MNCs such as Coca Cola and IBM, and there is nothing that would stop Mayavathi or Mulayam from repeating it. In the internet age, news flies at the speed of light and just a mention of this word will have FDI going out of India. The link to all this is the common man and who he votes for and why he votes that way. If we satisfy the common man, Naxalism will not find any supporters.

Jharkhand was ruled by the NDA from 2000 to 2006 and Naxals spread from 4 to 18 districts in these 6 years. Also note that from 2000 to 2004, NDA was in power at center.

Jai hind.. think over these facts.. true facts. I belong to Jharkhand.. so you cant say that i am lying..

Naxals and Elections.
by parameswaran K on Apr 16, 2009 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

The problem of Naxals is more than 40 years old. If we have still not been able to combat this menace, it is because of the laxity on the part of elected representatives from these areas, whose sole aim has always been to amass as much wealth as possible during their tenure. Most of the MPs and MLAs from the area do not even the visit their areas after the elections. There may be exceptions in this. Instead of combating naxals with force, it is advisable to call them for talks, understand their grievance and try to alleviate their grievances. It would even be advisable to involve them in local issues through the Panchayati raj method. Unfortunately, the government led by Congress has for the 50 years of their rule, only have been talking about panchayati raj - never to be implemented. You have a Panchayati Raj Minister in Mani Shankar Aiyar, whose only job is to do BJP bashing. His contribution for development of this system hasbeen a big zero. One thing is clear, if this is not solved immediately, the situation will go out of control and there will be parallel government by naxals in their strongholds, which virtually exists even now. Parameswaran

the problem today is India happens to be one of the very few major countries in the world whose dominant media is controlled directly or indirectly by foreigners. The usurpation of control has actually been by Americans, much of it through surrogates of evangelical organisations that are in fact quasi-government agencies. In India, most English language media outlets, are, in effect, vying with each other to accelerate the fragmentation of India in consonance with Anglo-American goals. The alleged oppression of minorities is the political bridgehead that modern evangelical organisations have entrenched in the public consciousness, relentlessly distorting its reality and using it ruthlessly to fuel discontent within India. By deliberately misrepresenting the Godhra communal riots as genocide, though both communities suffered, the media has gleefully incited Islamic terrorist attacks against Hindus and harsh international condemnation of India. As a corollary, the rise of the BJP inspired them to equate a nationalist aspirations with the oxymoron of Hindu extremism. Yet, there is resounding silence on the role of the to Islamic terrorism through vote bank politics and concealment from attention

more threat than terrrorists
by sujeet kshirsagar on Apr 16, 2009 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

You will find the intolerable naxals being the most disruptive of the two: Terrorists & Naxals. As is the practice the circles in political camp feed these kind of people's thoughts and their brutalism. The definite of creating more havoc than the terrorists will be seen in near future. Someday we could see our own neighbourhood cousin/friend handing a dreaded AK 47 and being proud of it. I hope the corrupt of politicians will try to wither out the casualties and naxal practice itself, by trying to be an Indian First.

i.e. what M Singh rightly believes. Please observe the reactions of Chadibaram to react only to those incidents where they are likely to lose because of the incidents. Coincidentally, these attacks are in favour of the Congress for the elections. No conspiracy here.
I do not worry about the Naxalites being traitors or coordinating with terrorists. I am scared that when they stand for elections by proxy or owned, they will win their seats by a vast majority. That justification will draw a lot of people to thier cause.
