Please need Gram Swaraj and not any central rulers. Gandhi ji also wanted this. But power hunger politicians don't want. The world is moving towards decentralization.

If BJP is not capable of controlling naxals in a small territory like Chhattisgarh, how will they control terrorists, if they are voted to power at centre?

Mr Ghosh,
Please read the history. maxals are the people promoted by CPI(M). Who believe in killing (They are like Talibans). As far as BJP is concerned, they cant control it because they have get the required force and permission form center to crush these culprits. Just because their fathers were supporting congress

S Ghosh...
Thank you for completely not understanding the difference between a National threat and state level threat?
Is the naxal/maoist violence restricted to one area only....CANT YOU READ THE ARTICLE HOW MANY STATES ARE BEING TARGETTED?
You Congress supporters always try to twist facts.
This is a problem to be handled by new Delhi....WE ARE NOT A FEDERATION MATE....WE ARE A REPUBLIC.
Hope you know the difference? BTW, Why was the naxal violence very less during NDA GOVERNMENT?

Who are Naxalites(A wikipedia view)
by jitun mandal on Apr 16, 2009 01:27 PM

The term comes from Naxalbari, a small village in West Bengal, where a section of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) led by Charu Majumdar and Kanu Sanyal led a violent uprising in 1967, trying to develop a "revolutionary opposition" in opposition to the CPI(M) leadership. The insurrection started on May 25, 1967 in Naxalbari village when a peasant was attacked by hired hands over a land dispute. Local peasants retaliated by attacking the local landlords and the violence escalated.[7] Majumdar greatly admired Mao Zedong of China and advocated that Indian peasants and lower classes must follow in his footsteps and overthrow the government and upper classes whom he held responsible for their plight.[9] He engendered the Naxalite movement through his writings, the most famous being the 'Historic Eight Documents' which formed the basis of Naxalite ideology.[10] In 1967 'Naxalites' organized the All India Coordination Committee of Communist Revolutionaries (AICCCR), and later broke away from CPI(M). Uprisings were organized in several parts of the country. In 1969 AICCCR gave birth to Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist).

Practically all Naxalite groups trace their origin to the CPI(ML). A separate tendency from the beginning was the Maoist Communist Centre, which evolved out of the Dakshin Desh-group. MCC later fused with People's War Group to form Communist Party of India (Maoist). A third tendency is that of the Andhra revolutionary communists, which was mainly

Jai Babu
The reasons??
by Jai Babu on Apr 16, 2009 01:25 PM

See where the Naxal menace has spread. There is a pattern-Absolutely poverty stricken regions where the poor, landless and marginalised sections of society are being ruthlessly exploited and the law & order and political system is absolutely corrupted and perverted- areas of Maharashtra, Andhra-Telengana, MP, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, etc. What have successive governments done?? Naxalism is a failed ideology but the poorest of the poor have hardly anything to lose from their rotten, wretched and exploited lives. Instead of wasting tons of money on subsidizing the ungrateful Kashmiris, the Government should utilize funds to improve the lives of the poor in these states. Anarchy & chaos could be the outcome otherwise
