I believe that Maoists were behind the killing. If a few Christians had supported the killing, it is incorrect to say that Church supported that killing.

There is a lot of agenda driven misinformation and disinformation spread through imagery as well as written and spoken word. This ends up shaping our common perceptions. It is monopolized by those who have the means and the expertise as well as power and position. The only way to avoid false perceptions is to rely on our own direct personal experience and observation, especially when it comes to ones religion. As the Buddhist commandment goes 'Don't believe because your teacher says so, don't believe because it is in the books, don't believe because your parents say so, don’t believe because it is your tradition - direct personal experience is the final test for truth' Religion is a matter of mind and heart i.e. it should be within the reach of your own understanding and it should make you feel in harmony with nature and Creator, in other words it should bring in feelings of righteousness, purity, piety as well as justice, kindness and mercy. Once you decide it is for you then it does not matter who else believes in it, you alone or the entire crowd. History has shown us that sometime the entire crowd is wrong. Its origin should not matter either, whether it came from East or West, or form a black man, white man or Chinaman, whether it is in Arabic, English or Chinese. What touches you might not do so to someone else because difference of opinion is innate to human nature. So not every body is going to have the same religion as you do.
