Propelling nepotism
by sudesh bekal on Apr 13, 2009 10:11 PM

Ten crores in 5 years is big amount. It not only augers well for the politician, but also for his friends and relatives, caste men and religious group. As soon as some one becomes a politician, his people(of the above ilk)start asking for all sorts of favours. And the poor chap has to keep them in good humour so that he will have support next time around. Therefore, I believe that charity should start at common man's house, and let the ruler(politician)use the money for development.

Money Power
by Mahadeva Mishra on Apr 13, 2009 10:02 PM

Crores of rupees in briefcases are being distributed by Congress party to different states.Where does this money come from? In the past I have seen BJP and Congress all doing the same. My neighbour, the grand daughter of an Ex-president of India and a politically influenced person was telling me how every ticket of Congress Party has a price tag attached to it.Ahmed Patel is the one who looks after this. Most of the Congress candidates are rich people. They all pay money to get the ticket.

Look at the ticket distributed by congress. From muslim dominated areas they have muslim candidates, from Yadav dominated areas they have yadav candidates. Yet thay claim they are secular.
In Congress Party every single politician's kid is a minister. Naveen Jindal, a billionare is close to Gandhi family. All gandhi kids moves around with these billionares for holiday for five years. They remember the public and especially the poor ones every five years.

Please never vote for these people. While voting first take into account the credibility of the candidate and then the party he belongs to. Weigh your options and then vote.

Time has come for us to vote more independent and honest people from our constituency. If they loose then no ticket will be sold. We have good people. Lets find them. Lets advertise for them thru net. But lets make a difference this election.

BJPs Novel scheme – What did congress do in 60 years ZERO
by Lopesh S on Apr 13, 2009 09:55 PM

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP government in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state.

Under the scheme, the state government buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.

This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP. This bias is going to be the undoing of the Congress

Politics a lucurative business
by rajesh saini on Apr 13, 2009 09:35 PM

Why should criminals not join politics when it provides such a powerful means of large amounts of unaccounted money?
People have to file income tax returns every year but do these politicians spending 2 crore rupees per year in their constituencies file any return on amount spent? No. This rule was passed to make every elected politician syphon off atleast rs 2 crore every year without doing anything. In todays world of RTI and internet, why can't individual politicians spending of rs 2 crore for so called development be made public? Why cant Election Commission make it mandatory for MPs and MLAs to file their money spendings from MP/MLA fund in past 5 years along with filing their nomination for next election? And why cant Election commission have a web site showing this detail along with detail of declared assets for each person filing his/her nomination along with photographs for voters to see and make informed voting decision?

it is most lucrative because it is least accountable. Even CBI highest autority of investigation agency cannot touch a polititian without PMs office approval.
But one needs to keep in mind that you have to be in power to make money. or else you end up on the loosing side. It is good to have black money print or mint!
Only way to correct this
1. Give only one seat per family (monther, father, wife, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters constitute a family)
2. Only two terms are allowed per candidate.
3. A person elected cannot be owner or shareholder of a profitable business.
4. Family and Relatives of elected member cannot participate in Govt. project bids.

These steps are more than enough to clean up the atmosphere! Only then one belives politics is really a social service .

2. Karunanidhi - His son owns most of chenni. over a dozen politicians in the family. they run bunisess starting from TV media, paper, movies, transports, shipping etc.,
3. YSR - height of all. was in 40 lakh debt as of 2004. now runs business empire worth 10,000 crores as per registrar of commerce office.
