Selective amnesia – biased news media
by annamalai on Apr 13, 2009 10:07 PM

For people suffering from amnmesia, let they be reminded that in 1985, our so called 21st century leader late Rajiv Gandhi, passed the Muslim Personal Bill, in order to please Muslim fundamentalists, when the Shah Bano judgement was delivered, in favour of her, against the Shariat practices. This led to a Hindu backlash, and then to please them, this same leader ordered the Shilanyas of the Ram Janmbhoomi temple, by unlocking the gates. That time he had little inkling that it was a time bomb best left buried in time, and then the BJP pounced upon the Ram Temple issue as a counter to the Congress's minority vote bank politics. It was the beginning of the downward slide for the Congress, when the majority realized their pseudo secular gameplans. After that the Congress has never really been able to get huge majority like earlier times, even in the face of sympathy wave after Rajiv's assasination. So today the nation has to decide what we want - a truly secular system in which your religion has no place in the legal system. Or do we want a system that caters to the gallery of fundamentalists ? If we are talking of progress, then its time we shed both fundamentalism and pseudo-secularism and have a common code for everone, irrespective of his religion. The Indian media does not mind devoting a months prime time when a few boys & girls are driven out of a pub. But when 1000's of Kashmiri Pandits are driven out of their homes and state itself, it has turned a blind eye.Pseudos all!

BJPs Novel scheme – What did congress do in 60 years ZERO
by Lopesh S on Apr 13, 2009 09:59 PM  | Hide replies

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP government in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state.

Under the scheme, the state government buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.

This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP. This bias is going to be the undoing of the Congress

Yes. You will need this scheme in Haryana as well. Else, the Jats can start thinking of legalizing same sex marriages. All result of female infanticide and no respect for women.

Advantage NDA over UPA : India TV
by Tarun Mukherjee on Apr 13, 2009 09:28 PM  | Hide replies

While the UPA’s projection of 187 seats include Congress 143, NCP 13, DMK combine 13, Trinamool 12, UDF 2, National Conference 3 and JMM 1, the NDA’s projection of 189 seats include BJP 143, Janata Dal(U) 18, Shiv Sena 12, AGP 5, Akali Dal 5, Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal 4, and O P Chautala’s INLD 2.

The Third Front’s projection of 115 seats include Left parties 33, Mayawati’s BSP 32, AIADMK combine 24, TDP/TRS combine 14, BJD 9, Janata Dal(S) 2 and Bhajan Lal’s HVM 1.

The Fourth Front led by Lalu-Mulayam-Paswan trio is projected to bag 41 seats, with RJD-LJP getting 15 and the Samajwadi Party getting 26 seats. Thus, eventually adding the fourth front’s tally into the UPA kitty, gives it a total of 228 seats, 44 seats short of the magic figure of 272.

To STOP dis-integration of India
by New York on Apr 13, 2009 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

Since Hinduism is based on CASTE hierarchies, it intrinsically seeds HATRED in your Children(e.g. Varun Gandhi).
Hence,
* You must VOTE for candidates from your CASTE only.
* Only he can UNDERSTAND your culture and IMPROVE your socio-economic status.
* And do not worry if he is CORRUPT.
* You must vote for your caste till 85% of all registered marriages in India are INTER-CASTE or INTER-FAITH.
This is the only way to STOP dis-integration of India.

Excitement is not good for Dr. MMS
by KA on Apr 13, 2009 07:47 PM

Media please don't excite Dr. Manmohan Singh too much with unproven hope and expectation. Yesterday, He told women media that he is supposed to rest after his Pentium by-pass surgery, and that is why he can't contest Lok Sabha Poll this time. Priyanka is saying that she is getting older, so she wants to come to politics but Mama feels she may kill the chance of Rahul.
