The Shahi Imam also lashed out at the Congress party.

"If the Congress party is really bothered about the welfare of the Muslim community, then why has has it not acted upon the Sachar committee report's recommendations? The report is like a mirror to them and the work that they have done," he said.

The Sachar committee studied the social, economic and educational status of Muslims in India.

Praising the Sikh community for standing united in its demand for justice to the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and forcing the Congress to withdraw Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar from the poll fray, Bukhari said Muslims should also come together and work for themselves.

"I want to congratulate the Sikh community for being united and forcing the Congress party in changing its decision. Muslims must learn from them," the Shahi Imam told a news service.

He added that educational institutes with a "minority character" should be established in all those places where there is a substantial Muslim population.

The above idiom just fits fine for the congress and its headhonchos. This party is actually colliding with the foreign elements like the tali, Let etc just for their vote banks. Her for once she is right - dead right to say that the enemy lies within and is more dangerous. Jai Hind

Shahi Immam's Statement.:Muslims should launch their own party.
by Kala Khanjjar on Apr 13, 2009 01:45 PM

Accusing political parties of using the Muslim community as just a vote bank, the Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid here said on Saturday that Muslims should join hands and launch their own party that will work for the community's welfare.
"Muslims in this country have always been secular and have never voted on religious grounds. They have even voted for political parties whose leaders have been Hindus. They even supported the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 1977 and 1989 elections," Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari told a news service.

"However, none of the political parties who the Muslims have voted for have done anything for their welfare. This is why I think the community should launch its own political party," he said.
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, where Muslims have over 20 percent of the vote share, Bukhari said that the community has lost all faith in the political parties.
"Political parties use Muslims just as a vote bank. They are not really bothered about their rights or upliftment and welfare," he said.

Speaking out against the Samajwadi Party and its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Bukhari said: "All those involved in the Babri Masjid demolition have become friends with Mulayam Singh. If he doesn't leave them, then the community will not think twice before withdrawing their support to the Samajwadi Party.”

Stop complaigning please
by Mr Walker on Apr 13, 2009 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

She may be bad but it does not help if Advani retaliates at her remarks, or the media is just hyping this stuff.

Advani should concentrate on how to make things better for himself , his party and this country.

Focus should be on development, terrorism, naxalism, environment, justice and equality.

This country is in shambles today and we need urgent corrective measures instead of mud slinging on each other.

If these guys are fond of mud slinging they can do it on holi day, elections are not for it.

Sonia and Congress are not on right track and thats the problem with this country so BJP should not do what they are doing.

On lighter thought it would be amusing to see Advani and Sonia playing holi with mud and colours ;)

We can also have Rahul, Priyanka, Maneka,Varun joining in :)

Mr. Walker....I disagree with you. Sonia has done this on purpose. This is the umpteenth time the Congress party has insulted BJP voters.
Gujarat / Karnataka / MP, voters from these states have been subject to real sophisticated abuse by the Congress controlled media.
Gujrat especially, Ashis Nandy wrote the in famous article in the Times of India " Gujratis are blood thirsty". Congress defended him.
Advani is right in pointing this out to Sonia.

Sometime kindly tell Advani that its his time to retire now. He's 80 plus its his age to go on pilgrimage not to become Pm. That koke of a person should know that "Jab adha paw kabar mein latak raha hota hai to insan PM nahi banta hai ushe mukti ke liye ghar mein baithe hue aram karna chaiye"

U know why bcz advani is no saint/good person
1) If yes then why Babri Masjid. I read in today's newspaper that he wants to bring religious leader back into reckoning. That means India goes back by 500 years or so.

2)An educated, intelligent and cultured person does not use such abusive language as Advani,

3) He did not respect A.B. Vajpayee whom even the opposition respected,

4)He flames people will towards destruction,

5) If he truly is a leader then why doesn't he give anyone else from BJP with more intellect and time on hand a chance to stand for PM,

6) Whan credentials does he have to contest for PM?

And your point is that if someone has less age he/she is better suited to run this country ??

I dont see the current youngsters doing anything great anyway neither does the corruption reduce also the pollution is an all time high where as our so called "successful" youngsters are merrily riding big cars showing off their newly acquired wealth.

Luck and hard work and quality are different things.
