EC's Double Standard
by chandrashekar nayak on Apr 13, 2009 01:40 PM  | Hide replies

Election Commisssion's Double Standard is obviously seen, when perpetrators of identical crimes are treated differently.BJP was offered a free, unsolicitated advice from EC not to give ticket to Varun Gandhi for his alleged Hate Speech against Muslims. Lalu made a statement in an Election rally in a Muslim dominated constituency that if he were the Home Minister, he would have run a Road Roller on Varun and crushed him for making objectinable remarks against HIS MUSLIM BROTHERS AND SISTERS.No free advice from EC to RJD. Rabri passed some nausty comments against Niteesh Kumar and no free advice from EC to RJD. A HINDU politician from Congress party in Karnataka said he will chop off the hands of those who talk about Hindutva. No free advice from EC to Congress. EC seems to be pursuing its own agenda in the process. I am in no way defending what Varun Gandhi is said to have said.Even if it is true, we all should have ignored that as just an election time utterance. No political party can take a "holier than thou " stand on these matters. everyone of them, right from Dr MMS to Madam Maino to L K Advani to Narendra Modi to Raj Thakre to Bal Thakre to kapil Sibal to.....to....to.... (infinity) .. everybody violated basic decency in their hate speech against ploitical opponents. WHY SINGLE OUT VARUN THEN????????
