Friends, you are worried for finding a definition of 'secularism'. Do you think there will be any changes if we declare India not a secular country?? This is because Hindus (if we follow it in its true sense) are the most secular. For example, we celebrate X'mas, Budhapurnima, Idul Fitre etc... The fear is created only by psedu seculars.

Yes, indeed - we are most secular. That is why all hell breaks loose when a Hindu girl legally marries a Muslim man, as happened in Kolkata after the marriage of Rizwanur with Priyanka Todi!! Forget about other religions, even the Hindus do not tolerate Hindu people of other castes! That is why the lower caste people are still not allowed to enter certain temples of India. Friend, please try to appreciate the truth.

Roy, what rubbish! Indian is not most secular. In my experience, I've found France as the best model and most secular nation. India is not even one of the best democracies, how can it be the most secular then? Don't you think it's contradictory?

Mr. Roy, In a nation of 1 billion if in some ghetto some if some Dalit is stopped from entering temple then does that make all Hindus racist. If that is so then i guess all of America is racist too and i dont have to tell you why.

Nobody says to lose your identity. But, at the same time, religious considerations must not come in civil matters in a true secular state. For example, a legal marriage should not be questioned on religious ground! Similarly, division between men on grounds of caste is not only immoral but also insulting for mankind.

Thanks. At last I found at least HR who is secular! We have to admit that false is ours, we legitimize it on the name of reservation etc....This is why I prefer to say we are not secular, who bothers!!

Dude ..You must be a pseudo secularist for sure. First whatever reason Kalam was made president, there is no denying Kalam was probably the best President India has had,unlike the rubberstamp and most inept Patil.
As for Afzal Guru, Congress did not do a favor by arrensting him. It is a shame that a TERRORIST who was involved in the attack on parliament is still not hanged after all the proof and court trials. If a person who atacked the parliament is still not hanged, what are the chances anything is going to happen with the Mumbai bombings. Also as regards to "Encounters in Mumbai firing", the less said about this incapable govt the better.
Lastly regarding the First rights to minorities, we still have Article 370 that give special previleges to one community that ha been constituted by this dynastic party.

Secularism has got a definition in dictionary and I have no objections with that. In Indian context, I believe Indianism is the thing that is important to us. And if someone says 'secularism' is pseudo-pro-Islma for votes, anti-Hinduism and anti-Sikhism - sorry bro, can't agree. Let me know how the slaves define it.

True meanig of secularism in all the people othe country are treated equally in the eyes of the law,one law for all the citizen,no reserveation on the religious line.and no minority pampering.all the religion are treated equally and no religion demand any special favour like muslims of INDIA have got separate muslim personal law board. that is not secularism that is minority pampering.

Secularism entails divorce between state polity and religion - no religion should be given importance in a rtue secular country. Unfortunately, in India, that does not take place.

Secularism is India bashing, minority (read the 25 crores semitic ones) appeasement. Only hindus are secular those minorities are either pro pakistani or pro vatican. Neither of them have any stake in India.

NArendra Modi compared Congress with Budhhiya..that only shows his narrow thinking capability..this is still acceptable..the problem for me is he added afterwards and said budhhiya is someone who is only pain for the family and make family spends all money towards her health. THis is what Modi's comment is about his mother and grandmother.
Which cultural allows such disgusted thought? Certainly not Hindu.
