you r absolutely right.still after more than 60 years of indipendence every migrant from west punjab and other western parts are known as refugees in their own country and no body ever remembered the slaughter of more than one million innocent contrymen & women during partition and not even a single memorial built for their slaughter during indipendence day of the country.

The killing of Sikhs was a mstake, and the congress has apologised for it. and it does not deride the Sikhs time and again, the way BJP puts down Muslims. That is the difference between the two parties.

the secular party is that who does not talk against any comunity. Though they may talk in favour of some comunity. Like if BJP says that we proud to be Hindu then its perfectly fine to be secular. but if they talk(or favour who talk) about killing the people of some comunity then they are not.

BJP's supporters know they have to tell lies and spread mischief, create discord and come to power. Congress is also bad, but they are slightly better than communal BJP. Communalism will create problems for our great nation. We need to learn to live in peace. And we have done it for long, here in India.
