Re: Naveen Jindal deserved a shoe
by preethi prakash on Apr 10, 2009 07:18 PM
why would you say that? will it resolve anything?
wont this cause unecessary riots and loss of life and thus further the future generation will fight for these reasons and the loop continues.

If we don't stop garbages in the name secularism, justice and others right now, future generations will be only cursing us for inactions!

Bring Law and Jail Term for Show Throwers
by Rajaguru on Apr 10, 2009 06:52 PM  | Hide replies

After the Iraqi journalist threw shoes on President Bush and the Indian journalist followed suit on P Chidambaram, it has become a fashion to throw shoes on political leaders. Government must form a new law and punish show throwers whether they throw shoes or any other particles against any political leader, whether Congress of BJP or CPM or any other.

Why ? What is wrong in throwing a shoe as a symbol of protest but not with the intent of hurting ? It is far better than starting riots on the streets.

I am not a Sikh, but I can imagine the pain and suffering due to loss of loved ones during the anti-Sikh riots.

What does one do if he/she does not get justice after 25 years ?

Yes but people should throw both the shoes (right and left) so as to make the pair complete, to the congress leaders. They will use it after elections.

Yes i agree it is a tough question but throwing shoes is considered an insult and my fear is that supporters of this person should not start some riot citing the reason their idol was insulted. because in the end, it is only common man who suffers while these ppl who are the actual culprits will cozily escape to some phoren country.
And in this case, he was a school teacher also. What will our children learn, that when justice is not iven , take matters into your own hands.
The shootings in America are clearly an example of ppl taking things into their own hands when injustice is meted out to them.

100% right. guilty congress politicians should be slippered and flogged for their role in the 84 riots. throwing a shoe is actually a mercy for such vermin.

I totally disagree. With judicial system in tatters, poor and deprived have no way to address injustice done to them. So this shoe treatment is least harmful. If things don't improve, then we will have Naxal treatment to politicians. Think which is better!

Vote
A Plea for action
by Vote on Apr 10, 2009 06:50 PM

We have politicians who create regional and religious hatred, politicians who oppose projects like Tata Nano for political gains.

We can change our political system by voting for the right person and persuading/educating people around you to vote for the right person.

Loksatta led by Jayaprakash Narayan(Former IAS)is the only party which said it will not use
1) Money
2) Liquor
3) Religious hatred
4) Regional hatred to win in elections.

It is the only party which said it will not go for strikes to protest against government polocies but will protest in a democratic way.

For a country like India which has a 14% power deficiency importing nuclear technology for power generation is very important. Loksatta is the only party which was not part of the UPA (ruling coilation) which supported the Nuclear deal and urged other parties to support the deal which is very essential for our country.

When govt increased fuel prices because of the increased prices in gulf countries all oppositon parties did unfruitful works like using bullock carts to goto assembly. But loksatta is the only party which said we should reduce our dependency on oil (petrol) we should start using unconventional resources and fuel efficient technologies.

It is the only party which talks about providing good education and health facilities, infrastructure.

Let us all contribute by voting for the right person and campaign for parties like Loksatta which have great principles

Religion-based head count in Army is irrelevant
Latest in the series of controversies centred on the Congress party’s fixation with Muslim grievances is the data collection exercise involving the Indian Armed Forces.
It is irrelevant and mischievous to mention about caste-based divisions in the Army during the British rule.
Congress leaders not only divided the country politically but also militarily. The military officers and men of pre-independence India , belonging to all communities fought the WWII together under the British.

Pakistan got a ready-made army at its birth. When Indian Muslims got Pakistan they also got a Muslim army carved out of the undivided Indian Army. This army produced Pakistani generals and officers who fought wars with India — the first full scale war being in 1965. This is history in living memory.

The Congress party having divided and ruled the country for decades is continuing with its dangerous game and monstrous thinking of doing a head count for the Army now.

by Rama Mani on Apr 10, 2009 06:13 PM

This whole Jindal family has been one of the props of corrupt and anti-national Con party. He deserved this shoe treatment. As a matter of fact, all Con leaders, commie leaders deserve it! Our judicial system has become rotten. This corrupt system does not touch these rich and powerful! So these kinds of acts are only options left! By the by, don't believe a word of this Con MP!

Contrasting responses
by sanath on Apr 10, 2009 06:11 PM

"Jindal alleged that Kumar was under the influence of liquor."

PC said "I forgive" and also some noises like "I understand the Sikh sentiments."

The question is would Jindal have made the above statement if the thrower had been a Sikh (like prior) or a Muslim or a Christian ? or Would PC have benevolently forgiven if the thrower had been a Hindu knowing fully well that Hindus like sukkers will continue to vote for them whatever they do ?

i think no one should be allowed to take a bath in it. people from around india come there and take a bath, some haven't even taken shower in many days and then they make it filthy. other thing is no one should pee or sh*t in it because it goes in people's mouth when they take a doopki.
