Why Indians are QUITTING Hinduism and not other religions?
by New York on Apr 11, 2009 04:19 PM

Hinduism is nothing but COVERT mask for Casteism which intrinsically seeds HATRED among your Children in India.

Hinduism's caste system is a religious-based system of separating groups and keeping one class (Brahmins?) over everyone else.

In America there is no system in place today that forces people to remain separate or keeps one class subservient to another.
If you were born the son of a street sweeper, but excelled, you could become a doctor or lawyer or some celebrity or entrepreneur - and at the same time you would be fully accepted by your peers.

Not so in India. The caste system freezes everyone in place. It is extremely difficult - almost impossible - for someone from the lowest caste to rise in education and social status.

A Dalit would never be allowed to marry into one of the higher castes and would never be accepted as an equal.
And for a Dalit to make it into MEDICAL school or opening a RESTAURANT or become a member of high SOCIETYin India is very rare indeed.

Only by escaping from the grasp of Hinduism do they have much of a chance....
And till then you must vote for candidates from your caste only till 85% of all registered marriages in India are INTER-CASTE or INTER-FAITH.

Call to election commission
by venkata subramanian on Apr 10, 2009 04:26 PM

What the election commission has in its agenda to check these type of calls to voters given by socio-religious organisations of minority community during elections. Is is not the act of hatred spread against fellow countrymen.

Zahid took a brave decision to fight against corrupted owaisi, who has done nothing but dividing people on the basis of faith. Owaisi amassed huge wealth and he & his party men have became a huge menace for hyderabad city. Kick owaisi out of politics with your vote.

If Varun Gandhi can be booked under NSA,THEN BOTH OWAISI BROTHERS ASSADUDDIN AND AKBERUDDIN SHOULD ALSO BOOKED UNDER NSA for their provocative speeach which are communal, anti national.

vote for zahid ali khan, or be ready for one more taslima naseern eposide, communal riots, doctors attack and other problems if you vote for MIM.

Some truth
by gomateswara on Apr 10, 2009 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

All the reports and commentaries on the attacks in Orissa and Karnataka sidestep the original sin of extreme provocation and the consequential long-simmering discontent among the Hindus. Would such scurrilous observations about what is regarded as holy and sacred be tolerated by any community anywhere else in the world?
In sum, the secularism as practised in the country is letting it down, besides polarising the population. It is time a body of persons reputed for their objectivity and erudition went into the meaning and implications of secularism and communalism
It is a hallowed principle of jurisprudence that justice should be even-handed, and both sides to a dispute must be given a full hearing before conclusions are drawn. The media coverage of the disturbances in both Orissa and Karnataka and the action taken by the Centre are so one-sided as to make any fair-minded person feel extremely worried.
Swami Lakshmananda was a revered figure in Orissa who was engaged in service to the weaker and vulnerable sections of the population. Allegedly, the local Christian votaries of conversion saw him as a thorn in their flesh.
Satya Darshini, in Kannada language, was circulated in the name of an outfit called the New Life Church, scathingly denigrating Hindu gods and goddesses in the foulest of language.
“When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others? Their projection as Gods is nothing but a joke. (page 3

What these sanctimonious Christian and Muslim clerics deride as idol worship by Hindus is no different from them praying to the statue of Jesus or Muslims looking to Mecca when praying. When a Hindu from any part of the world prays to any idol no matter what it's shape all he is doing is concentrating on God. For him that prayer is to GOD not an elephant headed figure or a eight armed man or a multi armed woman on a tiger. The idol represents GOD for that instant.

Do U know recent take over of Chidambaram temple by non-hindus
by Sardar Patel on Apr 10, 2009 12:31 PM  | Hide replies

The recent Take over of Chidambaram temple by non-hindus and aestheists on Tamilnadu shocks our conscience. In many ways the ‘dravadian (by logical corollary ‘non indian’) heavily campaign against Hinduism and Hindu Symbols bears resemblance to the actions of the Taliban against non-islamic symbols (Bamiyan Buddha statues) in Afghanistan. Under international outcry even the Talibans halted their destruction of the statues, but in India the same set of politicians are now keeping quite.
Needless to say every attack on Hinduism and a section of the Hindu society (dubiously called as ‘upper caste’) is packaged as social justice! Sp great is the fear of ‘caste, votebanks, that even parties professing support fo Hindutva are refusing to consider the just and fair rights of the Unreserved Class Hindus. Things have gone so far that none of them are even willing to consider the Unreserved Class Hindus as Citizens.

ONLY Hindu temples can be and are taken over in India. Why does an "atheist" party (parties with a D and a K in their acronymns) led govt want to interfere in things religious? Can they dare touch mosques or churches, even if the most nefarious activities happen there or in their aegis? Bribed conversions, terrorist / anti-national activities, etc - all of these can happen thru these places no one is supposed to even question these, let alone dream of take overs.

That only Hindu temples are subject to such treatment is because of the inexplicable and sometimes maddening indifference of the community. We are all probably too busy or work too hard or plain dont care. No vigilantes or whistle blowers in our community unlike for other religions. And yes, some of the biggest whistle blowers and vigilantes for the other religious communities are some of our arm-chair "secular" Hindus only.

Such Hindu "secularists" don't care if Hindu gods and goddesses are caricatured elsewhere on rubber slippers or innerwear, their temples taken over/ vandalized, etc. Their line is that the such acts do not in any way endanger Hinduism or lessen the stature of our gods or goddesses in any way. They raise hell on the Gujarat riots but NOT A WHIMPER on the way Kashmiri pandits got brutally thrown out of their own homeland by Islamic groups. And if you raise your voice against them, then you will be dubbed "uneducated", "intolerant", "Hindu fascist", etc.s

BJPs Novel scheme – What did congress do in 60 years ZERO
by Lopesh S on Apr 10, 2009 11:39 AM

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP government in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state.

Under the scheme, the state government buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.

This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP. This bias is going to be the undoing of the Congress

Any good scheme from BJP is bad for media
by S S on Apr 10, 2009 11:38 AM

Yeddyurappa’s budget had encouraging news for several sections of the population — farmers, high school students, officials, researchers, patients, alike.

The decision to send 1000 farmers abroad on a study tour will expose them to different types of farming methods. Further a provision of Rs 750 crores as a support price for farm produce is good news.
Yeddi has given a fillip to ornamental fishery and has given an impetus to the establishment of goshalas for the protection of milch cattle. Extending free power to farmers with upto 10 HP pumpsets, introducing e-tendering to bring in transparency, allotting Rs 2 crore for reviving the river Arkavathy and establishing 500 foot bridges in the Malnad to bring connectivity to remote villages, are all heartening to note.

CM also deserves to be congratulated for providing free health insurance to poor families. Another noteworthy point, is the support given to the development of sandalwood cultivation, green villages and medicinal plants
