Hinduism's caste system is a religious-based system of separating groups and keeping one class (Brahmins?) over everyone else.
In America there is no system in place today that forces people to remain separate or keeps one class subservient to another. If you were born the son of a street sweeper, but excelled, you could become a doctor or lawyer or some celebrity or entrepreneur - and at the same time you would be fully accepted by your peers.
Not so in India. The caste system freezes everyone in place. It is extremely difficult - almost impossible - for someone from the lowest caste to rise in education and social status.
A Dalit would never be allowed to marry into one of the higher castes and would never be accepted as an equal. And for a Dalit to make it into medical school or opening a restaurant or become a member of high society in India is very rare indeed.
Only by escaping from the grasp of Hinduism do they have much of a chance.... Alternatively, you must vote for candidates from your caste only till 85% of all registered marriages in India are inter-caste or inter-faith.

I dont understand how Christians have grown so much n population in India, I have read Christianity came to India through one of Jesus deciple St Thomas and he was more in South India. Half of south Indians are Christian population especially in Kerela and Tamil Nadu. I heard since Thomas was killed in Tamil Nadu, Christians have grown verymuch in Tamil Nadu, their God should be a powerful God.

Shineindia, you do not know the history about st Thomas.Previous Pope denied the arrivel of st thomas in india but admitted he came up to west of punjab pakisthan.Many christian scholars agreed and made research and found st thomas figure is myth.there are three burial tombs for this man - one in syria, another in italy and third one is in chennai. which is true christians are experts in twisting the story to suit them and engage in god work for conversion.there are many pitfalls in christianity and they can not explain the reason for inquality,inquity,variation of social order without hindus concept of Athma, Re-birth, karma and moksha since christianity do not have any theory with their god protrayed jesus himself admitted he is not god but man sent by god.Would you like to see a god bleeded in cross.Go to vrindavan and see many italians and western people are staying over there happly praying joyfull supreme parmathma Lord Krishna.
