A plea for action

Many of us don't vote Do we have to?

We have politicians who create regional and religious hatred to become politicians; politicians who oppose good projects like Tata Nano for political gains. As most voters in India are uneducated and under educated - they can be easily provoked by religious and regional hatred etc. Many politicians target such people to get their votes.
Only very few of the educated who can judge the politicians, actually vote.
Just criticising our political system and politicians is not going to bring a change. We can bring a change by voting for the right person and persuading/educating people around you to vote for the right person.
Loksatta is the only party which has good principles and agenda and led by a very good
statesman Dr.Jayapraksh Narayan (Former IAS). It is the only party which supports and opposes government based on policies instead of bluntly opposing government like other opposition parties.
I request all of you to vote and encourage people around you to vote.

Please Please check this blog "loksatta-india" to know how worse our politicians are and great ideologies of Loksatta

If this is not communalism and casteism, then what is???
by Fried Yakov on Apr 09, 2009 04:33 AM  | Hide replies

This Congress thug wants and expects the vots of all Mozlims and Dalits in his constituency-why - not because he has done anything for them in particular, but because he himself is a Mozlim. If this is not communalism and casteism, then what is communalism??? Congress is the most communal party in India as of now.

We have politicians who create regional and religious hatred, politicians who oppose projects like Tata Nano for political gains.

We can change our political system by voting for the right person and persuading/educating people around you to vote for the right person.

Loksatta led by Jayaprakash Narayan(Former IAS)is the only party which said it will not use
Money,Liquor,Religious hatred ,Regional hatred to win in elections.

It is the only party which said it will not go for strikes to protest against government polocies but will protest in a democratic way.

For a country like India which has a 14% power deficiency importing nuclear technology for power generation is very important. Loksatta is the only party which was not part of the UPA (ruling coilation) which supported the Nuclear deal and urged other parties to support the deal which is very essential for our country.

When govt increased fuel prices because of the increased prices in gulf countries all oppositon parties did unfruitful works like using bullock carts to goto assembly. But loksatta is the only party which said we should reduce our dependency on oil (petrol) we should start using unconventional resources and fuel efficient technologies.

It is the only party which talks about providing good education and health facilities, infrastructure.

Let us all contribute by voting for the right person and campaign for parties like Loksatta which have great principles

Manmohan singh the great
by eCran on Apr 09, 2009 01:30 AM  | Hide replies

Dr.MMS has done great job but unfortunately his work is not much recognized because he is neither a self proclaimed politician like many others nor indulges in aggressive marketing like Advani. He is a duty minded PM who has true concerns about the nation and it is left to the Indians on what they want to choose.

That is a sick joke, right? UPA has bankrupted India and its citizens will be paying the bill for the next generation or more. MMS is probably the most incompetent economist ever, besides that Amartya Sen idiot with his Kerala-model!!!

Work of PM:
spend atleast 60% of time everyday alone in office
enact. amend existing laws to make them stronger or weaker depending on situation

beef up the security apparatus by firing few heads

look at current economic situation and control inflation

Give good speeches with confidence to motivate people

not go around saying ; ' so and so people have first right over resources '

India facing a very tough situation in foreign policy front.
by abarna banerjee on Apr 08, 2009 08:40 PM  | Hide replies

Does anybody care?? How the new Obama administration trying to dragg us to another war?
It is a very sticky situation on the foreign policy front. The way the new Obama administration is try to "pass the buck" on India's lap by asking India to get involve in eradicating the Afghan Militants ( please read recent Holbrooke& Admiral Mike Mullen's press conference in NewDelhi). Their heart is with Pakistan, pledging more money but not asking Pakistan not to send the militants to make trouble in Kashmir. That’s not their problem only Indians to die so that Americans can sleep peacefully. Who created Taliban? Who fueled the fire for Afghani Militants? Why India has to share? So that it can plunge into more debt? Never to get out of it. Buy US (2nd hand weapons with $s.
Americans are trying to find some way of washing their hands off putting& the burden on some others shoulder. Where are their NATO friends? They did not commit. Why they are puting pressure on INDIA, the scapegoat. Anglo American has done enough by creating & keeping alive the Kashmir problem. 1st. we should sort that out. Then we will think about it. But who to rely on? Do we have a Leader? A leaderless country will go astray. That's for sure? Mother India! You have no one to take care of you. They have sent you to a senior citizen's home where you get constant abuse. That is your Destiny. I am sorry. My heart bleeds for you. But like any ordinary Indian I’m as helpless as YoU are.

First, you have to admit that there is a problem in our vicinity. And I see that you do. That Taleban and Kashmir are problems.

Next, you have to find solutions for the problems. Americans dont care for those solutions even if they messed it up. They just dont want anyone attacking them from Afghanistan or Pakistan. Isn't that what we want too?

So, what is wrong in India stepping up? I hear that India, Iran and Russia are holding talks to counter the resurgence of the Taleban should the Americans and NATO leave it half-baked.

I don't think we are helpless. You may be. We as India are not!

Oh... and those second hand weapons - they are sometimes better than our first hand ones. Think bofors (not American) in Kargil.

Exactly right. When dirty VP Singh ws prime Minister he has release the daughter of Home Minister with the help of BJP and not congress. Of course earlier he was congress man but thereafter he left the congress and join hands with other communities to slow down hindus. He has started mandal commission and now we are suffering from mandal, reservation. Dr. Ambedkar said in his book give the reservation for SC/ST for 15 years to improve them but our poltician go on extending this reservation for their vote bank. Todays world even brahmins are reservation. I am vaishy wani and I am in reservation in the head of OBC. At least to God sake this should be immediately stoped and give equal right to all indian either he may be hindu, muslim, ST, SC, any other cast. Hence please vote good educationish and good character people. if you will not find such type of person in any party then please vote indepedent candidate namely Mallika Sarabhai, Sanyal like wise. Give chance to good independent candidate and they will finalise their prime minister. Please dont give any vote to BSP this is not a party for poor and common man and only critizing other parties. Every now and then collecting donation for the birth day. No bodys are dared to ask them why this donation. Hence please vote only good candidate any party including good people from independent candidate
