Biased... Just ignore this post
by desikan r on Apr 03, 2009 11:01 PM

This is as biased a report as possible by a columnist. Sounds like a paid crony of the Congress. The entire article seems to have only one motive... that is BJP bashing...
Rather sick. Cannot have a healthy debate or even discuss over the content of the article. Any response will only see a lot of bile being spewed... either in support or against. Waste of effort chaps... just ignore this post...

Varun Gandhi

I have met Varun Gandhi, he has a certain naivety but also a great power and charisma, far beyond the presence of both his elder cousins.
I am an Englishman who has recently lived in Delhi and I have been surprised by what appears as a huge bias against him.
Varun Gandhi is, let's face it, a young, courageous, ambitious man. Perhaps, Congress, or Sonia, or some 'political oligarchy' fears that 'charisma', enough to doctor tapes against him.
From the conversations I had with him, his primary concern was 'humanity'.
He expressed both compassion and comprehension for Islamic culture.
It is beyond me that the country of India can victimise the grandson of an assassinated Prime Minister.
The Hindus of Piliphit in Utter Pradesh are angry because they heard and understood his allegory. Why does the press seem to revel in distorting and further inciting the situation?
They have thrown rabid innuendoes and contempt, not just at him, but also his Mother, Meeneka, who has been dismissed, as an eccentric.
I can only say that had Sonia Gandhi, done half as much for the people of Delhi, as Meeneka Gandhi has for the dogs of Delhi, then the city, materially, would be richer for it.
Whatever the wrongs and rights or 'privacy' of what happened between Meenaka, Sonia and Indira Gandhi, is their 'private' affair.
The people of India will, eventually hand Varun Gandhi power
Because he is a Hindu, and the majority in a democracy, have their say, he will be elected.

That will explain you that in India today we have a ruler mentality which is much more scarier than what Hitler did in Germany.
Be afraid, be very afraid.

These so called secular brigade are nothing but a form of Hitler in disguise see how easily they blame others as fascists.

Those who are the first to blame others are the real culprits.

Nice to read your views about Varun!
He has the potentail to be the PM of India after about 10 years or so! Till then he could a MP or a junior minister!
The bias against varun is engineered by the political parties that are out to appease the muzlims in India for t5hyeir votes. In fact, the Congrees, BSP and SP-all parties having a fair amount of follwers in the UP have been vieing with each other to woo the muzlim voter. Hence the bias against Varun! But he will emerge victorious with even greater popularity!

Red alert for Narendra Modi. Now Advani's new face for BJP is Varun Gandhi, not Narendra Modi (P.M. candidate against Advani).

Varun Gandhi new Youth Icon

Varun gandhi has proved himself to be a leader in the making to lead the nation. He is well educated , scholastic and India,Not like non-indian and college dropouts like his other cousins from the great family he hails from. He had carved a niece for himself to take the leadership, not inherited the leadership like his cousins. He had touched the 85 crores hindus in India by just one political move and i think he must win the election. There are people around us called themselves secular and lead their people to conduct riots like Jagdish tytler, but those are given clean chit for the sin they have made. I think we need youths like Varun in India to make our country great and teach a lesson to the so called bloody I.S.L.A.Ms.

In his writ petition, Gandhi submitted: “That the petitioner is a well-educated and peace-loving citizen and has done his BSc Economics from the London School of Economics in the year 1999 till 2002, and thereafter went on to do his MSc in public policy at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in the year 2002-2004.” In a widely-circulated e-mail to faculty and alumni, Zeba Salman, alumni relations officer at SOAS, said Gandhi did not complete his course at SOAS. “Feroze Varun Gandhi withdrew from his MSc programme at SOAS, and hence did not actually graduate from SOAS,” Salman wrote. Dr Rachel Dwyer, faculty member at SOAS, confirmed this to The Indian Express. Sumantra Bose, Professor of International and Comparative Politics at
LSE, said Gandhi was never a regular student at LSE. “Mr Gandhi’s connection to LSE was through the University of London External System, which is a distance-learning provision,” Professor Bose told The Indian Express. “He was never a regular undergraduate at the LSE. He was never admitted into the LSE’s own undergraduate student body and he was never a member of LSE’s campus,” Professor Bose added. A senior administrator from LSE who did not wish to be named, said: “Varun Gandhi applied for admission to LSE, but was rejected; his degree is from the University of London. He cannot call himself an LSE graduate.”

What is wrong with distant learning? Distant-Learning is a provision for online education. A degree is a degree whether it is regular or online.
The Indian media personnel have gone crazy to make news out of nothing so that they can run the agenda of the stupid Congress party.
Many students today use the distant learning system because of their busy life. If it is not a degree why did the University of London give it?

IT IS EITHER NDA OR TOTAL CHAOS FOR INDIA.
by kedem kemorah on Apr 03, 2009 03:53 PM

In a daily changing scenario in which the UPA is breaking up into pieces and with the Third (A)front having as many PMship claimants as number of constituents, how does it matter what someone like Sushma Swaraj is saying or not saying? She is not an Oracle of Delphi nor is she Bhrigu Muni the best ever astrologer. She was foolishly trying to be too clever in trying to keep the BJP's doors open to more potential allies in the event her Party emerges the largest single party after May 16 not realizing that she has put her foot in her mouth.Everyone knows that all combines will be up for sale to the highest bidder from any Party which is the most desperate to make their leader the next PM.The real problem will start if the Third (A)front does better than expected as every constituent has a PM aspirant who will drive almost impossibly hard bargains for their support, prime most being the PM's post. This will send the country into unprecedented chaos which will worsen the present economic turmoil, worsening GDP and also the terrorism related issues from across Pakistan. This will make India lose all the momentum it has over enemies like Pakistan and China and downgrade our prestige in the international fora.Any combine that needs the Left's support to survive will prove to be extremely detrimental to India's interests even if it turns out to be a relatively stable entity. With all "secular" parties willing to do business with each other only a winning BJP will do without Left support.

varun gandhi and his speech
by raghavendra rao on Apr 03, 2009 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

this column is written in a bad taste and the autor apparently tries to divide india into bjp ruled and non-bjp ruled states implying that it is the media which is more divisive. which in fact is a fact. it is the media which loves these kind of stories to increase their sales and trps and therefore takes steps like: 1. asking extremely provocative questions which lead to suggestive answers

2. printing only parts of a speech and telecasting "censored" interviews

3. highlighting the views of a particular side

4. giving VIEWS and not NEWS

5. and as everybody knows each media house is controlled either directly or indirectly by a party.

so i for one have lost complete faith in the english media. but still follow it and finally i make my own decisions.

PLEASE GIVE UNBIASED NEWS AND NOT YOUR VIEWS; COLUMNS LIKE THESE ARE OK; BUT DIVIDING INDIA IN THIS FASHION CAN BE RETRO-PRODUCTIVE
