Kerala Politics

Internal squabling is of course the chief cause of UDF downfall. It is person driven politics in Kerala and organized parties are puppers a the hands of influential politicians. Karunakaran should have been boldly shown the door once for all. That itself would have inculcaed some confidence among voters. Opportunistic congress leaders failed to read the writing on the wall and inflicted self defeat.

LDF too will face the same music (of internal squabling) and the so called larlge majority will be nove. Achuthanandan deserves the position of Chief Miniser, but one does not know what party posses have in mind. After all, in communist regim it is the politicians who de

To designate "the verdict of the people: as anti-incumbency factor is an insult to the people of Kerala. Right from General Election of 2004 thru' Panchayat elections the people of Kerala voted against the UDF. It is the policy and its results which matters most. Just look at the % of votes obtained by LDF even in last two elections. The changing economic scenario is bound to force the people of Kerala to rally behind the LDF as LDF led by CPIM is providing alternative to the same policies of Congress and BJP. Not only in Kerala but also in Tamilnadu BJP has failed to open account. After all religion is not the basic necessity of a human and people of Kerala are well aware of what is going on in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Mp etc.

Dear Communist,
So what is going on in Gujarat, Rajasthan & MP ? Gujarat has outstripped even Maharashtra in economic growth inspite of all the dirty games played against Modi by communists of all hues & the Italian led colonial government. Rajasthan and MP are having stable governments. The Gujarati has enough jobs in their state itself and doesn't have to be economic refugees like the Mallus. They don't have to work like slaves in the arabian deserts for paltry wages. They don't have to get ridiculed by people of other indian states. They don't have to learn and live by other peoples culture and language. And why the Malabari(As he is derisevely called in the Gulf)has to suffer all this inspite of coming from a resource rich state like Kerala? Because of a despicable disease called communism that has ruined their state. Tell me dear communist, does kerala have any other source of meaningfull income other than Gulf remittance.Tomorrow if the keralites are kicked out of Gulf and other parts of India, then Kerala will starve. So instead of wasting time blaming Gujarat, do some hard work for your state like the Gujarati does for his state.

election result
by benny thomas on May 11, 2006 09:17 PM

The most admirable aspect of the election result is that voters have shown political maturity and forced so called "power brokers " to sit at home. Within a short span of time, some of the ministers and leaders amassed wealth and built mansions. Every deal or decison of some ministers were suspected. They never thought one day they will be answerable to the public. They could not fool voters. Some leaders behaved as if they are the rightful owner of the constituency they represented. No ethics they followed in their public life. They followed "self before service" motto.

DIC tie up is the reason for the fall of UDF
by Alex Varughese on May 11, 2006 07:39 PM

I fully agree with the views of Benny Bahnan. The DIC Tie up brought the UDF down, that cancer should not have been taken back on the back of UDF.

Oommen Chandy and Chennithala were doing a sound job, but i dont know it was whose idea to bring in the DIC.

I too turned against the UDF because of DIC, so were my friends. Murali has no hold in Kerala, throw him out, so are his Constituency deserted MLA's.

UDF learn from this. Give Oommen Chandy and Chennithala free will, remove small parties(just like the CPM) did, go forward we are with you.

SO IS DEVELOPMENT. When will we become more sensible? Lower our egos. Learn to respect other's opinions. Learn to appreciate rather than always criticize and suspect others....
