J Jayalalitha is the Iron Lady of India
by Kumaran on Apr 30, 2006 03:51 PM

Again its the lady who's emerging a better manager of affairs. Couple of case that point to it:

The only one to clearly state in her manifesto - Veerapan will be eliminated - come what may.

Suspending over a lakh striking government employees

Managing relief in wake of tsunami.

We the pampered citizens of Indian democracy need such matrons (masterni in hindi).

Sometimes a dictator is good ...remember the times of emegrgrency - trains used to come/leave on-tim, babus used to be in office on-time,etc.

We need such Leaders.

bunch of lies
by bency mohan.g on Apr 30, 2006 03:06 PM

The article'Communists are a virus'by Juan Rosario is a rubbish. Why rediff allows to publish such a religiously madman's article in its pages?Such rubbish deserves nothing else, but a waste bin.
Kerala is number one state in India for secularism, unity, human and social development, even appreciated by the United Nations. Its tradition is very much intermingled with communism and progessive thoughts. How strong anyone try to break it through spreading of a bunch of lies, will never succes.
Kerala is developing state. The social development in kerala is because of the communists and social leaders like sri narayana Guru.
The writer during his abusing story, mentioning the name of E.K.Nayanar,the former chief minister. Why he even dont know that Nayanar dies one year ago?
The only sad thing is that such rubbish articles will create wrong image of kerala in the minds of people who never heard or visited this small state which is known as "god's own country"

I forgive u Mr. Juan Rosario's
by umesh scaria on Apr 30, 2006 11:56 AM

Dear friends,
Lets jointly forgive Mr.Juan Rosario for his awareness about communism. Further, with his measly knowledge of Indian constitution, he is bound to be unaware of secularism too. A learned man would find Kerala and Bengal in the present rut, not because of the politicians, but due to the indifference of a highly politicised public and people like Juan. Communism didnot destroy us...we destroyed communism.
If Mr.Juan Rosario, a software Engineer by profession were to look very closely at his own field especially the LINUX revolution, he would understand the power of human cooperation, the basic principle of Communism.
By the way, I doubt if Mr. Juan Rosario is as knowledgable as he claims. Why else would he resort for help on cheap religious grounds, which in themselves are social evils fragmenting the society and country.
Mr.Juan Rosario, if you can read, I would Request you to get a book on Karl Marx and the history of communism. Also, Try to read the history of Communism in kerala.
By the way, whom r u voting for the destructive LDF or the very fragmented & corrupted UDF????? Both the ways you are doomed...
cheers
have a good day

Who is the real Virus?
by Johnson PP on Apr 29, 2006 12:52 PM  | Hide replies

I am surprised to see Mr. Juan Rosario's comments in Rediff, under the article "Communists are a virus". He says communists are against Christians!! Does he know what happened in Ollavanna,Thrikkunnapuzha, etc? Who attacked the Bishop house in Tvm? Why murderers of Fr. Job has never been caught?

He claims that development in Kerala is far behind than neighbouring states. As a proud Indian, I am happy if any state of this great country achieves progress, be it Bihar or Tamil Nadu or Kerala. Now let us see what does he mean by development. People like him, the development my be some skyscraper buildings, education business, and follow the wrong sides of the western culture. Does this gentleman know Kerala has been even praised by United Nations for its soclal development and for its tremendous progress in education and health sectors?

Who brought this progress to Kerala? It was the great leader EMS' vision. It is only the the commnunist ministries that brought fundamental development to Kerala. Starting from Land reforms, education bill, peoples planning, IT at School, Technopark, etc. etc. there are several developments LDF brought in Kerala.

What ever u say Mr.jhonson, The policies of LDF
has definitely affected the industrial growth of kerala..They have driven out many industrial aspirants out of the state..Thats why kerala's educated youth has left with no other option than to move to other states and gulf for their better future..

Mr. Juan Rosario,

It seems that you have THe Bible as priority even before the country.

My humble request is that - feel proud that you are an Indian and then be a christian.

Regards
RSamuel.

Well said, Johnson !
I can only pity Mr. Juan Rosario whose views are more suited for the 19th century.
How can you think everything in terms of caste and religion ?
You cannot neglect the fact that the left had a crucial role in the high HDI (Human Development Index) of the state.
Once again Congrats to Mr. Johnson for giving an apt reply to such rubbish views.

Only problem with left authorities have, is to oppose without having good insight of the problem . If the agenda is really of employment, then there is no doubt, the day majority of unemployed people ( say 85 % ) get employment to earn their living. The left will be out of business. They don't want any one to grow however talented he/she must be. If by chance somebody grows. they'll be looking for a chance to shine in front of public by finding small mistakes, their leaders are all after it.
We are left far behind from the world. We are only a place for experiment for rest of the world , we should not forget Kerala is the largest consumer market today , this shows how expensive our state will be in coming years . We should have proper resources of income, so that we can also nogotiate with the world directly. Each individual should be trained to lift themselves fast according to todays need and government should provide necessary sources and intelligence to grow them. This can only be possible by a party who have leaders with great wisdom and all of them have atleast above average education. When we see all these factors we find left far behind capable for leadership

Well done mr johnson by giving the correct reply to Mr. Juan Rosario. Can't get through which angle he measures development.Mr. Juan Rosario, do you know the literacy rate (even though there are many criticisms over that exists but still the achievement cannot be ignored. )of kerala? Do you know the health sector advantages in kerala? Can you understand the change in lifestyle of the very common man in kerala and can you compare the life standards of common men in kerala with other states, see all these happened because of the policies upheld by the left parties here. Develeopment is not just building flyovers and express ways you have to elevate maximum people to the highest level.Only from a very selfish attittude you can advocate such hi-fi development.

i fully agree with Johnson. the word development is explained in a totally different way by these new generation yunkies. i belong to this generation only, aand i feel sorry to say that our generation is running in awrong dirtection. to them dvelopment means shopping mall, discos , macdies(in their term) or a movie in an AC theatre spending a high amt. they think this way coz, to them this is life or success. they hv forgotten thebasic mantra of life ... money is important to live..but money is not the life.

Let's face it...

Are Communists Viruses? - NO

Have n't they done anything good for Kerals?- VERY MUCH. This is the only state where people in rural and urbal areas enjoy the same kind of facilities/education/medical care/water/elecricity.
(Lets' travel 30km from Chennai/Bangalore/Hyderabad - We will get the real picture of development!)

Are they against development ? - Pretty difficult to answer. It is high time they STOP the nonsense STRIKES/BANDHS etc..Think and act as if they are in the present world order NOT IN earstwhile SOVIET UNION.

Conclusion - Communists did a lot of good things for this God's own country. Now they should start thinking of development. Invite investors and provide a investor friendly atmosphere.

Anyways, even if they do not do any of these things, people of Kearal will still elect them Why? since there are NOT MANY corrupted leasers among them compared to the other side !

Mr. Juan Rosario's comments are, in plain terms, outrageous. While Kerala is behind its neighboring states in industrial development; he misses the point the real aim of industrial development is social, or rather "human" development. Kerala already has a high Human Development Index (HDI) among Indian states - the problem now is to sustain it. The "development" as defined by Mr.Rosario, will only bring down the HDI, since a majority would be excluded.
The LDF, particularly its leader Mr. Achuthanandan, has also a much better track record in serving secularism in the true sense of the word. The UDF, except for the Congress, is nothing but a crude alliance of parties serving only specific religions, or parties existing only for the "development" of its sole leader!

Hi All,

I'm no religious fanatic and I do not support any political party in Kerala. But I do agree that its the communist who has hindered the development of Kerala, just by opposing all and every sort of proposal which could invoke a lot of employment opportunities. For Eg:- last year when BMW was planning to setup a Car manufacturing plant in Kerala, a hartal was declared by communists the day when the officials of BMW came to kerala to visit the state. The very next week, BMW decided to withdraw all such palnts and now they have setup a plant in Chennai. This is just one example. Communists are so twisted that they know only if the people remain poor will there be an existence for their party.

Apart from the religious stuff - still believe communists are the only secular party out here - I agree completely with the article. Whatever you see in Kerala has been built by the NRI money. There is absolutely no jobs created here. Communists in Kerala should atleast learn something from their chinese counter parts.

Communists doesnt have any rights to claim the credits for social developments. These are largly due to literacy/education level, which the communists have done nothing for. As rightly pointed out, communists are the only illiterate people left in kerala.

What comminism have done in Kerala, just like in any other part of the workd, is equal distibution of poverty. They have done nothing to create wealth, but the worst part is they oppose and destroy and attempt to create jobs. Unfortunate, Kerala doesnt have too many options going into the election.

Kerala - Communists are a virus
by mpnarayanan on Apr 29, 2006 10:25 AM

This refers to the article posted by Juan Rosario

Sr Software Engineer on the above subject.

It is true that the communists are preventing Kerala from progressing. But then, why are the people of Kerala voting the LDF to power in every alternate election? The answer is simple. When the UDF is voted to power, during the five years of their rule, they prove to the people beyond doubt that they are worse. What is the achievement of this government during the last five years? Their time and energy is spent for defending the Ice Cream parlour episode, fighting and removing Karunakaran & son from the party and againg joining hands with them, making noise about the Smart City project time and again and then backing out from signing the deal when the court gave them clearance (the alibi is that CPM has objected to it. Does the Chief minister believe that the CPM secretariat is above the court?). West Bengal government has even gone to the extent of banning strikes in the IT sector in Bengal. Kerala Chief minister should go to Bengal and enrol as a student of Budhadeb Bhattacharya (Now that the UDF is heading towards a humiliating defeat, he will get plenty of time for it).
