Is this Development?
by PP Johnson on Apr 30, 2006 06:50 PM

Being a Keralite, it is interesting for me to see our respected Chief Minister teaching Marxists the so called "development". For our CM and his team the development is selling the rich natural resources and public properties of Kerala. A number of the ministers/ex-ministers of UDF govt. are criticized by judiciary for corruption. The pathetic part is that UDF have given election tickets to such people without any shame. Our CM boasts about a 'stable' goverment at the centre'!. I think he has purposely forgot the factor that the so called 'stable' central government will fall down the moment it viloates the "common minimum programme" (CMP) which has been insisted by Left Parties. Without the CMP, we all know how our congress will rule the country.

Glad to see CM now praising China. Marxists have never stopped Smart City. CPM has assured support for the project, provided govt. owned InfoPark is not given to anyone for real estate business. Let Mr. Chandy tell who brought the fundamental developments such as land reforms, education bill, Technopark,IT at school..(Sorry not enough space to continue, I request Rediff to give more space).

Marxists and Development

I agree with Mr. Chandy in toto. On has to only look to West Bengal wheree they are in powere close to three decades and the hapless people there have to travel all the way to Kerala to find manual labour. Some development that.

Their trick is,keep the people fooled with revolutionart rhetoric, and as long as they remain poor, the Marxists can champion their cause. Should progresss be really achieved, the very same people will throw them out. Nobody know it better than themselves.

The last LDF government in Kerala had looted the State to such an extent that the succeeding govt. had choked due to paucity of funds. All that looted funds went into CPM party cofers and into some of their pockets. If one more chance is given to them, Kerala will never be able to recover from its after effects. So I do agree with Mr. Chandy's decision, 'let people decide their destiny'.
