Quota's make sense when the implementation was for equitable justice. The quota system has infact been so misused that the weaker sections of the society have been cheated.
Why can't our leaders propound and pass a law whereby an individual from the lower strata take quota benefit only 3 times in their lifetime! E.g.If he becomes a leader under the quota once, the rest of the times he can be elected leader only by his deeds and not by the fact that he belongs to quota category! Will this not give a filip to improving the meritocracy in the society? Will not the fruits of hard work be appropriatly gainful?
In my opinion, subsidy for education, one quota call for higher education and one quota call for employment is enough to help the weaker section earn a better livelihood. It will help them put efforts in earnest to improve living standards and live a life with pride. By being classified as quota members, we have successfully cultivated another divisive 'caste' terminology .
Private companies will do more for social justice if the system was truly tuned to benefit the weaker sections - for they generally wish to work hard... lets encourage hard work and make this nation.
