my comments on bihar developments
by gaurav raj on Mar 08, 2005 12:47 PM

dear sir/mam,

president's rule was the only outcome post election results due to paswan's intentions of not supporting any party in govt. formation.

i believe he did it for two reasons.
one he himself wanted to become the chief minister which was not possible.
second he wanted to bargain as much as possible before giving the required nos. to any party.
he wanted to play safe and at the end he had been fooled by himself. because with 29 MLA's he cannot become chief minister without the support of the like minded parties which are congress the left and RJD or JDU. but without BJP and RJD no govt in bihar is possible. either this way or that way.

the future which i can saw has two options.
one paswan going with JDU and BJP to become chief minister or providing issue based support to the above combine.
second is that RJD will ensure a defection in LJP and getting the support of other independents to form the government.

and is today's context the second option seems to be the closest activity with yadav in full swing after guv buta singh called in for president rule.

Blessing in disguise - Presidents rule in Bihar
by Deepak Bhaskar on Mar 08, 2005 12:06 PM

Presidents rule in Bihar should have been imposed at-least 5 years back. Let us hope that this is a blessing in disguise for all the people of Bihar.
