He acted foolish. You cannot show your loyalty to the party like this. The country always comes before any party or the organization. If he had some doubts then he should have consulted the Supreme Court or the President.
In short I would say he acted selfishly for this party. Therefore he should be sacked and punished by law. This would give a right message towards a healthy democracy in India.
