Catch my MLAs if you can: IB Chief rapped
by Premendra Agrawal on Mar 04, 2005 01:01 AM

It was similar to a cat-chasing-a-mouse story.
The five legislators managed to reach New Delhi despite heavy odds. They had decided to support the BJPs bid to renew its lease over Jharkhand were suddenly left staring at the prospect of becoming the most wanted after it became clear that the state was heading for regime change.
National Security Advisor M K Narayanan summoned the chief of the Intelligence Bureau, E S L Narasimhan, and expressed his displeasure that the country's top intelligence outfit could not locate five independent legislators of Jharkhand.

Congress+JMM thought independent MLAs would go through neighboring Chhattisgarh ruled by BJP. But this was wrong. Newly CM filed FIR against BJP for kidnapping the independents. They searched Plane, which was ready to fly Delhi from Ranchi wanted independents were not there. BJP managed to brought successfully the independents via Orissa and WB. All 41 paraded before the President. Media print and electronic both interviewed all of them. comindia2004@epatra.com
