attack on our democracy
by Chinmoy on Mar 03, 2005 02:59 AM

Let only IAS/ICS/IFS staffs be selected as a governor of a state. The Governors post should be apolitical.
Shame on the action of this Governor. Its attack on our democracy.

JMM invited to form govt in Jharkhand
by Deepak Kumar on Mar 02, 2005 11:46 PM

I am not surprised by this gross violation to constitutional spirit shown by Jharkhand Governor action to not to invite a party which has shown the proof of majority to governor as per media report. When a party(indian National congress) is not democractic within itself then what you can expect them to do.There is no election to chose the leader of the party .Indian National Congress of Indira Ghandhi time and of Soniya Ghandhi time is same. When her mother in law can bring emergency just to save her power in the centre then if the daughter in law gives a damn to consititution then I am not surprised.
I am aghast to see that Indian people are considering this as a fight between NDA and Congress.
It is first of all an issue of one party using its machinery to undermine democracy. It is democracy which is giving us the common people some say in affairs of the state. But if there is no democracy then we are all powerless.
For us democracy is all important.Wake up Indians.

NDA to move SC against Jharkhand governor
by Aditya Bhushan Gupta on Mar 02, 2005 09:54 PM

Giving chance to Shibu Soren is highly unethical by governor. He is the same person who was asked to resign from the central ministry in the UPA Govt because of criminal charges against him.

Congress has acted undemocratically and they have to price for it soon.

Utter nonsense
by Adarsh on Mar 02, 2005 08:34 PM

This seems SOMEWHAT similar to what happened to one of the former USSR countries where the democratically elected was prevented from taking up the office. International pressure was built on this country before the power-monger gave up power.
I think India is sliding into such a political morass with the happenings at Goa, now Jharkand and who knows where else.
We, the citizens of India, whether we are situated in South India or North India have to put up one voice before this malaise spreads to other parts of the country.
We should NOT CONDONE such irresponsible and irrepressible acts of Congress and teach them a lesson. Congress is doing more harm to the country than good, starting from the pre-independence days.
Beware, Fellow Indians, Beware.

Regards,
Adarsh
