she is groomed well
by Mohd Azad on Feb 22, 2005 10:23 AM

Rabri has been groomed well by Laloo. The answers clearly show the maturity of a leader and how to handle tricky questions asked by journalists.

But whatsoever the situation may be, Bihar is worth pity and Rabri govt. should go if development has to be done in Bihar.

Extend the argument
by Dr T S Raman on Feb 22, 2005 09:09 AM

Shrimati Rabri Devi says that a CM (or PM or President) does not need be able to read and write. "Officers read on their behalf. ..." I like to extend the argument.
The head of a university department does not need not be able to read and write. There are professors, readers and lecturers who will do it on his behalf. The same thing goes for the Dean, Provost, and Vice Chancellor.
The Chief Justice of India does not need to know the law. In fact, no judge needs to know the law. There are court officials, Reader, and advocates (who are Officers of the Court) who know the law and advice the judges and the CJI.
A doctor does not need to know anything about medicine. The nurses, compounders, ward-boys, pharmacists and others are there to do the job. The doctor's function is merely to sign the prescription.
A school teacher need not teach. Parents of the children will do it on his or her "behalf". The teacher is required only to sign the mark sheets and other papers.

Was it Rabri who gave the interview?
by dharmin on Feb 22, 2005 08:57 AM

I very much doubt that Rabri Devi herself is capable of giving a interview. The answers must be from some one else on her behalf and then the interview might have been read to her which she might have subsequently signed! Isn't this the way she takes all the important decisons of the state and government.

Bravo Rabri....!
by Frank Cherian on Feb 22, 2005 12:33 AM  | Hide replies

Its refreshing to see a woman of humble beginnings come to the forefront of politics. I think both she and her hubby Laluji have a very unique understanding of the country, its people and the game of politics...!

I think we need more openminded and strong-willed politicians like them....

.....long live Rabri and Laluji....!!!

Madam- You cannot see a movie in Patna
by Rajesh on Feb 21, 2005 04:31 PM

Two points:
1)The whole state is a live theater, so not much point in paying money for movie tickets.

2)Madam CM, if you ever go to the movie theatre in Patna, you would get a first hand experience of the anarchy outside. I strongly encourage you to visit a theatre, choose one of those around Gandhi Maidan. After that, probably even you may not be interested in voting for yourself.
