A signal disservice was done by soniaji to bihar when she decided to oppose the imposition of president's rule in Bihar (this is not to suggest that the only the party which has been in power for the past decade is responsible for the mess Bihar is in today, but it would have been a step in the right direction because in bihar, democracy has begotten a total absence of law and order. The killing fields of Bihar could have been straightened out, perhaps, but for Soniaji's politicking in favour of the ruling party in Bihar.Political compulsions and the rampant casteism in Bihar are responsible for the plight of the state today. Perhaps one way out is to carve out smaller states like Magadh, Bhojpur and Mithila comprising various parts of the state, and hope that the smaller states which result will be better governed. As on date there is little hope for the state.
