It was such a predictable enaction. Venkiah would have told Advani/Vajpayee that he would make a public announcement of resignation and they will automatically reject it. That way we can be in the news for a few days and hog limelight. Then its back to a chinta baithak. These clowns appear damn pankag UDHAS and gautam GAMBHIR. Serves them right.

Venkaiah's Resignation Offer.
by M Shukla on Oct 18, 2004 04:38 PM

There is nothing new in the results of election.Only Venkaiah and Pramod Mahajan are responsible for this defeat. The way they treated elderly leader, I mean to say Atal Bihari Vajpayee. They deserve this fate only. Many BJP supporters are disappointed by the comments of these irresposible leaders. Both of them should be expelled from the party for five years. They are power hungry people.

Resignations
by partha biswas on Oct 18, 2004 04:08 PM

Somehow it appears pardoxical that political persons throw something called RESIGNATIONS,while the common Public least cares who the Party President is,regardless of the party.
It is NOT the SINGER but the SONG that matters. And if the SONG itself is bad, the SINGER cant do anything.
The culprit is the SONG or maybe the SONG-WRITER at the worst.LIke Song-Tiranga singer Bharti,Song- Savarkar singer Swaraj,Song-Hindutva singer Togadi/Modi,Song-Muslimhatao singer Thackrey.
Indians have shown they like Songs...so give them a song...with love, compassion, justice, honor and not just six-pence worth of rabid utterances which the Saffron party did in both the last important elections.Viva free India,Jai Maharastra,Jai Hind.

No, Mr. Naidu, No
by Shiv Gyani on Oct 18, 2004 03:56 PM

Mr. Naidu must not resign.
Who else will give us those lovely sound bytes?
Who else can make up those wonderful, if silly sounding alliterations. And those unrelated puns.
Mr. Naidu must stay on as the BJP's own Great
Helmsman. How else will it seek its way to oblivion?

Resignation is not proper solution to the problem, even Mr. Pramod Mahajan would have been the Party presidnet the result would havebeen the same.
The party needs to think on its strategy, they need to establish people to people contact, understand the people problem irrespective of people caste and show the measure to solve the problem. If they do it successfully BJP will emerge as single party to hav majority not only in Maharashtra but also in Central.
This is the only area where BJP can score more than congress, ncp and also more than its partner shiv sena.

BJP's stand in the recent election
by Unnikrishnan on Oct 18, 2004 03:44 PM

Dear Sir,
It is true that NDA has lost some seats in the recent elections but it is not the fact that NDA has lost their political image. Immediately after the change of the union ministry, the UPA Government has announced some extra privileges to the Muslim community particularly, which helped to keep them as their vote bankers. Mr. Lalu Yaday's decision to make re-inquiry into the "godhra" incident has also made a feeling to the Muslim community that the UPA Government is fully supporting them. These are some of the main reasons to loose NDA in their recent elections but this situation will be changed.
With regards,

Venkaiah Naidu resignation drama
by MA on Oct 18, 2004 03:10 PM

One more drama by BJP leader by offering his resignation. Earlier, Uma bharati tried to do the same. You may find Promod mahajan in the queue ... but senior BJP leadership will keep faith in them and refuse to accept the resignation.
