Divide & Rule that should be strategey for Shard Pawar.
63 YRS old and if he wants to become PM of India this is the oppertunity ask for Central post of DEFENCE + Shinde Must be Made CM. + Chhagan should be made DYCM.
This would cover Pawar's back & Looks good as a two backward r given vital post. This will make Dalit happy.
At next General Election which should be in near future; after election Merge with Congress (I) go for PM post .

As NCP being the single largest party in maharashtra state assembly elections, question does not arise that CM should be from any other party may be from congress although both congress and NCP are tied up. So, naturally CM should be from NCP only. current finance minister Mr. Jayant Patil must be given preference in view of his knowledge, experience and considering number of votes (more than 85,000) by which he has won this election.

This is pure case of politics of convenience & gains.
It is not surprising that the State is reeling under debt of Rs.97000 Crores. It is a matter of shame, that people who have neither the interest of the State nor that of its people, are being elected to govern our fate. Do we really require such leaders?
Can the Governer not do any thing to stop such blatant misuse of the Office by the Power mongers?
I wish such a step is taken at the earliest,to see,not only the State but also at the National level
to make both the State of Maharashtra & India, have better Governance for the betterment of the people. It will also give a better image of the Country as a whole.

Not party politics but only suitability will be criteria for Chief Minister of Maharashtra!
by B.Gautam on Oct 17, 2004 03:22 AM

The selection of a chief minister will be purely on the basis of the urgent need to deleiver goods to the large majority of population that are poor and downtrodden that are silently in miseries as majority of politicians live in false promises year after year! The suffering of this lowest layer of population can be seen and felt by a person near such people. Shri Shinde will be most suitable chief minister who is comparatively honest, sincere, good to all sections of people and has long experience in maharashtra politics! It is not the party politics which will rule but the suitability for the very serious jobs to be entrusted to serve the aggrieved urgently to render a necessary relief to them. Thus Shri Shinde is the right person to continue as the congress chief minister of maharashtra.

Politicians should shed self interest while deciding on public causes!
by B.Gautam on Oct 17, 2004 02:38 AM

This is another opportunity for a test of sincerity and devotion towards noble cause of service to the people at large as displayed in the role displayed by the involved politicians on such occasions! They should not be misled that people are blind to the double talks and other tactics played for personal gains! People are adequately intelligent and wise to assess various actions at different occasions of the politicians on their sincerity to the public issues from time to time. Perhaps, they have to sustain the spirit of national purpose in every activity as they talk. Black sheep will be aptly isolated on identification!
