Let us hope for the best.

As the last loksabha elections exit poll results were far away from the actual one, so let us wait and see. I hope all the news channels had worked hard to overcome the exit polls limitations. Besides this fortunately all news channel's reports are roughly matching except NDTV and ZEE as they are saying 125 seat to Df and 115to Sena BJP and rest to rebels. So all the best to all news channels and let us hope that the efforts of the news channels will not go waste.
Tahnk you for this feed back.

Should this exit polls also go wrong, then exit polls and opinion polls should be banned. What is the point? A simple coin toss might provide a better prediction!

WESTERN MAHARASHTRA IS THE NUT FOR BJP TO CRACK
by RITU RAJ KALRA on Oct 14, 2004 05:48 AM

I am of the view that it would be a tight contest and that exit polls are not the right source for basing one's judgements.

BJP is in a dilemma and if it loses in Maharashtra too it must try and do a lot of soul-searching. It has abondoned Hindutv and has yet to get repositioned itself as a party with the difference. Not taking social issues agressively to the old supporters while also fading out on ideology smacks of political bankruptcy in the thinktanks. Add to it the bitter infighting and egoism the second-rung politicians have crept into. Why was Uma Bharti not asked to campaign in Maharashtra...is Pramod Mahajan playing the spoiled brat?

Lesson for BJP: STRATEGY FIRST SUCCESS SECOND...

BJP is sore loser

Congress has proved that no party in India can match its committment towards people. Although its present leaders r nothing in comparision to its past, but still among the rotten lots of other parties, Congress is definately the best. Also it will mean end of Shiv-sena's future. Possibly a split. All those parties who use religion should similarly be kicked out by voters. Good signs.

The problem for Marathis
by Mihir Govilkar on Oct 13, 2004 11:28 PM

If the SS-BJP doesn't come to power, the Marathis will have to face big problems. The INC-NCP have not even mentioned the problems that the Marathis face today and will face in the future, nor are their policies such, that favour the Marathis. If someone does not like to be addressed as an outside person, then he should call himself a Maharashtrian and a Marathi. He should be proud to be a citizen of this city and this state.Nobody has objection to people who have been residing here till 1st January 1995.That's what the "Mee Mumbaikar" campaign was all about. It asked people to be responsible citizens of this city whoever they are and whatever their origin or background.Until and unless he feels and believes himself to be a citizen of this city, nobody objects. He must also not destroy the city for his personal gains. And if he still calls himself a UPwalla or a Bihari, then why the whole fiasco stating that the people whose origin lies in other states feel bad when they are labelled as "Outsiders', when in fact they are.The media has been very much responsible in creating this bad hype agianst the SS-BJP.They should present a clear picture rather than show a distorted and biased image.

Exit Polls
by N.Narasimhan on Oct 13, 2004 10:12 PM

Sheer waste of time. I am surprised that even after the last elections exposed their predictions as hollow and totally undepnedable, T.V.Channels and some newspapers are continuing with this utterly futile exercise. Why not consult the astrologers, the other fraudlent breed that thrives on the gullibility of people?

Exit Polls are unreliable now-a-days.
by Shrirang on Oct 13, 2004 09:51 PM

Everyone has seen the debacle of Exit Poll Predictions in LS & assembly elections before that in 4 states. Same episode is going to repeat in Maharashtra.

Results of Exit Polls
by Aditya Datar on Oct 13, 2004 09:24 PM

If the same logic of Lok Sabha Exit Polls is to be applied then thease exit polls mean that the results of Exit Polls indicate that present NCP-Congress govt which will be "Exited".
