BSP has a philosophical strategy as 85% Vs. 15%. The party workers are cader based. They works for down-trodden people and against the superstition amongst the peoples. As far as Political background is concern, Every political party works on basis of caste, Money, devide & conquer policy. BSP has adopted the same. But the motto of the party is to change this caste system in India, to bring euality in every aspect of society, As far as Maharashtra Election is concern, Evenif it is defeated, stealing the vote of every party, In forthcoming age, vidharbha will be stronghold of BSP. Nowadays it is effecting on the votes of other parties, but it will voteholder in the coming years.

Real cause behind Cong decline...
by Shrirang on Oct 12, 2004 02:23 PM

Dear sir
As everyone see, BSP is stealing vote share of CONG (NCP comes after RPI in Vidarbha), the facts are not like that. The LS elections this year were the first after DF govt took charge in 1999. The people of Vidarbha hopefully voted Cong in 99, but in response Vidarbha got huge negligence by this regime. Most of the development schemes started by previous Sena-BJP govt were stopped due to lack of funds. Every year funds declared in Budget for Vidarha, were turned to other regions. The cotton grower farmers were ill treated by DF govt, which was doing anything & everything to woo Sugar lobbies in western Maharashtra. Even the projects in new MIDC zones like Nandgaon peth were totally overlooked by this govt. The backlogue in terms of funds reached a fig of Rs. 25,000 crore, which clearly shows the govt unwilling ness to do any good for people of vidarbha. This was the most biased govt as observed in Maharashtra, till date. For instance, the same govt which didn't allow cattle to die, in drought times in W. Mah, was doubting the suicides of farmers in vidarbha are due to droughts. That's why people of Vidarbha showed the anger in April & this time they'll bring them down!

bsp will do some damage definitely for cong and its allience in vidharva region but it may not be at that extent due to which cong lose too many seats so the allience will emerge victorious.
as per as the people of maharastra is concerned, it will be good for them if congress & its allience win elections, as congress is in power in centre and the state is under huge economic problems due to various reasons.

VIDHARBHA ASSEMBLY ELECTIOON - 2004
by M. GOPALAKRISHNAN on Oct 12, 2004 10:41 AM

Dear Sir,

Your predictions are absolutely correct. The congress-NCP combine may corner only 20 to 25 seats out of 68 seats and BJP-SS combine may get around 30 seats and the remaining seats will go infavour of BSP and others. It may be replica of recently concluded Lok sabha Elections. Thouogh BSP was there during that time, the congress may gain certain vote share due pawar factor and recently certain benefits given to the farmers in this region.

Thanks.
