by Sanjeev Kumar Rana on May 24, 2004 04:50 PM  | Hide replies

In the above mentioned subject article in the paragraph of Ram Vilas Paswan:

"Born in Saharbani village, Khagaria district, to an ordinary farmer in 1947, Paswan took the plunge into politics in the mid-1960s, leaving a lucrative police job as deputy superintendent of police"

is it true in the age of 13-20 years he leave the job of DSP and joined the politics.

Reply to: Ishtiaq ahmed

You stated that you are NRI, and you havent even voted for the country, and still you are demanding for new airport. First let the new Government look into the other things, then only he will try and get something new. I think India has enough International airports, which is not up to standard, let them try and get it to standard, and then they can think about a new Airport

Nilesh Desai
Youth ?
by Nilesh Desai on May 24, 2004 03:43 PM  | Hide replies

Sunil Dutt as Youth Minister ? It is Disgusting that 75 year old Sunil Dutt is the Minister for Youth.

Lallo Prasad Yadav as Railway Minister ? Now all trains from Churchgate to Virar will go via Patna. Passengers travelling WITH a ticket will be punished.

Kapil Sibal as Minister for Ocean Developement ? Can somebody explain how does one develope Ocean ? He certainly deserved better.

It is evident that those who are close to "Madame" have been rewarded for their acting skills(Renuka Chaudhary narrowly missed being the Dy PM - Inside Info)

Whats wrong in Mr.Dutt being a minister for youth. A person who has been thru the youth phase of life and also raised kids thru that phase is more apt than putting a youth in his chair.
Nothing beats experience.
Youth does not know what it wants, thats why a family still has parents :)

Please change Year
by Valsaraj on May 24, 2004 03:37 PM

Please change the year 1882 to 1982, stated in the description about E.Ahmed.

"E Ahmed: An articulate champion of minority rights at the national level, 65-year-old Ahmed has established himself as an able parliamentarian during his long career as a Lok Sabha member and as an MLA before that.

All-India general secretary of Indian Union Muslim League, he has the distinction of being the lone United Democratic Front candidate to win the election from Kerala this time.

A staunch advocate of the Congress-IUML alliance, the lawyer-turned-politician had been returned to the Lok Sabha unfailingly since 1989 from Manjeri. This time he opted for the safer Ponnani seat. A member of Kerala Assembly from 1967 to 89, Ahmed served as industries minister in the K Karunakaran ministry in 1882-87.
