Shame on democracy
by Ram on May 20, 2004 11:10 AM

It is a shame that leader of the world's largest democracy is nominated by a party leader. How will PM of the country function independently ? Congressmen have shown their color that they are incapable of deciding on their own, when it comes to electing their leader. Still they have the slavery attitude to fall at their leader's feet.

People should realize and boot this government and allies out in future elections.

Manmohan Singh needn't celebrate - INDIA SHOULD!!
by mahagurudev on May 20, 2004 03:50 AM

We should all be grateful to Sonia Gandhi for sacrificing the PM's post in favour of Dr. Singh.

It would have been extremely easy for her to have caved into the huge pressure brought to bear upon her... But she stood firm and pressed for Dr. Manmohan Singh instead. This selfless act will ensure that India gets the benefit of having one of the greatest economic & administrative minds at the helm of it's affairs.

We as a country have grown in stature by this act immeasurably... both the sacrifice of Sonia Gandhi which reminds the world of the Indian quality of renunciation & the installation of Dr. Singh who's name alone has firmed up one of the largest Stock Markets in Asia after a disastrous bloody Monday when shares went into free-fall!!

Dr. Singh & his entire family are about the most decent and honest people you can find anywhere - unlike the BJP where even Atalji's "foster" family was not above reproach & even Georgie was using his "partner" to conduit "party-funds" as shown on Tehelka.

Dr. Singh is instead a man of IMPECCABLE HONESTY & the same would be difficult to find across the entire political spectrum at present..

WE AS INDIANS SHOULD CELEBRATE!!!!
