he have lost a hero in Atalji
by ajay das on May 14, 2004 01:14 PM

this article about Atalji tell us how could have been a graeter pillar of strength than Sonia who is going to be our next PM. Sonia can Rajiv Gandhi's wife and have the Gandhi surname with her but she cant be a Indian in her whole lifetime. Indeed we have lost a real Hero in Atalji because a hero needs power which we the people has not given it to him. and i must say we are going to regret this form atleast five years.

by sukanta mishra on May 14, 2004 09:13 AM

We, the Indian as well as World will be deprived of
a good leadership from person like Atal Bihari Bajpayee who is a good leader as well as poet and
philosopher. Hope he will return soon as Indian prime minister.

Best Regards to A.B. Vajpayee

* Vajpayee dynastically did not wrest the highest post
by Premendra Agrawl on May 14, 2004 07:47 AM

Our PM of India,is a man with impressive credentials and prodigious talents in his own right. We breathed uptill now easier knowing our present prime minister would not try to create a throne and crown to pass on to his namesake. Atalji is bachelor with no heirs, He has his only stepdaughter and her husband. There is no possible PM with surname Atal or Bihari or Bajpayee. No body can claim that our PM Vajpayee dynastically wrested the highest post from his mother or father

Present Gandhis of Congress succeeded cleverly to associate herself or himself with Gandhi clan again and again before the country. It does not matter what her personal achievements are, what her attributes are, what her views are, what her vision is. All that matters is that she is somehow associated with the Gandhi clan. Italian born Congress President thought that because of Nehru-Gandhi clan automatically she with her fresher children, is as like a born ruler of natural born Indians.

Akshat Trivedi
Shame on the country
by Akshat Trivedi on May 14, 2004 07:31 AM

My heart cries at the reults of this election. Before I start, let me state that I have no leaning towards any political party, be it the Congress, the BJP or any xyz[i] party.

The one thought that pains me the most is that of all the things that we Indians use imported, could have done with an indegineous Prime Minister. I am sure Sonia Gandhi is a much better person than most leaders we have had but I cannot digest the idea of someone who is not Indian (by birth, decent or any of the bullcrap that goes with it). How servile can the people of this country be. And look at the congress, I dont know why they go sucking up to a family reinstating the fact that Indians historically have always have always been ruled over by Indian royal family or a foreign ruler. It is understandable that a politician would do anything to get power but I the common people have a little more dignity.

But then, all said and done it is the mandate of the people and I am stating my own opinion. Its the choice between the bad and the worse that we are presented with and we have to pick. I hope we will see a better choice someday and be really proud to say that we are Indians.

Vajpayee
by A.H. Venkatachalam on May 14, 2004 05:00 AM

It is indeed a pity that our electorate failed to take advantage of a great leader and patriot of venerable qualities and preferred to pin faith on leaders who habitually indulge in lies, falsehood, hollowness, corruption, nepotism, scheming and betrayal.

well done by BJP
by arif hirani on May 14, 2004 04:41 AM

Though it was a end of BJP govenment but i must say that they did a good job,in jammu and kashmir, work hard to build relation with pakistan and given a new idea of politics to indian governmet. Their way of ruling was diffrent than any other govt. It was a good said by Mr.Vajpayee that win and defeat are part of life but one must not give up and keep on doing good as much as one can.

saagar
Congress a South Indian party
by saagar on May 13, 2004 11:01 PM

Why is it that most of India has to put up with the Congress and Sonia when the people of the North never even voted for it in large numbers

Because of AP and Tamils, the entire north has to be stuck with an Italian born PM.

Congress is wiped out of Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, MP and in UP, they have 9 seats. In Gujrat, they are happy with just less than 50% of the seats won, although it was a surprise.

In UP, SP and BSP were clear winners. In Orrisa, BJP+ won and its only because of Tamil Nadu and AP that the Congress and Sonia is jumping with joy.
