To some extent it may be true but ,it is a weapon and right which should be exercised .
Let not the discussion about the state of affairs of current politics confined to just drawing room discussions or chatting over a party .Who is going to change the system if nobody is willing to even vote inspite of pleading thru so many ads .In a democracy it is the duty of people to exercise their their franchise and elect the right person(s)who are relatively better among the contestants .

Elites seldom vote.

Elites are the satellites of that ruling class - the politicians and the bureaucrats.

Irrespoective of the governments in power, their businesses and industries always keep running unhindered.

They just keep lubricating the system.

Their Deva is whoever is in the power, and many of them openly tell so to the medias.

They know how to handle governments.

From the very outset of our swatantrya - the independence - the majority of the middle class and the upper middle class have kept themselves away from the polling booths for some strange and unexplainable reasons.

They fret and complain against the system, but never indeavour to change it by going to the polls to oust the wrong people in order to give a chance to the other guy.

By not voting to exercise the adult franchise the unscrupulous politicians establish themselves with their ill formations to rule over a vast majority of people who have not dreamt of such a formation in the wildest of their dreams nor a PM out of the blue.

After the results in AP, there is no wonder elite/middle class/ educated people are losing faith in the Democratic system. If people like Naidu are being rejected and people like Lallo prasad yadav getting elected, then there is something wrong with this democratic system.
