prime responsibilities infront of new government
by raghava rao k.v. on May 12, 2004 09:50 PM

congress has promised free power. first & foremost, free power must be provided to agriculture sector with utmost care, not to push aside the industrial sector in to ill productive. the power thefts must be arrested to the core in all parts of state. state must purchase power from the cheapest sources, inspite of the fact that previous govt has made agreement for power purchase at a much higher price per kwh approx. rs.3/- instead of rs. 1/- approx. state must encourage industies to generate own power by setting up captive power plants of gas/combined cycle power, inturn lessening the burden on state govt
irrigation for agriculture must be more emphasized. small scale industries must be revitalised. corruption in all departments must be routed out

congress coming into power-Too late
by raghava rao k.v. on May 12, 2004 08:20 PM

the electricity charges raised by TDP 3 years ago, in a massive revolt against abnormal power charges, many people died in the police firing. the agitation was led by congress has fullest advantage of gaining power, had the agitation been made vigorously. the TDP has pacified certain congress leaders by certain means, and obviously the agitation was put out. during the prohibition agitation led by andhra women, every woman in the state longed for liquor prohibition, which has brought up the entire state`s economy, and personal life of every common man to a much higher level of living standards, increased the purchasing capabilities by virtue of no chance to consume alchohol. subsequentyly, the agitation was brutally crushed and zeroed in. Had the congress supported the prohibition agitation, TDP would have been thrown out of power beyong recognition. It is surprised to note that in both occassions, the congress had not taken fullest advantage since TDP has over powered everyone immorally. The prime causes may be ascertained as lack of unity among congress leaders, disintegrity, thirsty for power.
will they learn from the past or the past might be repeated? It is too early to decide
