Mr.Prakash Jha did his best
by sachin wagh on May 27, 2004 11:24 AM

When leaders fail to deliver, common man raises his anguish to new heights. After that, two groups fall apart. One group supports the common man, in hope of their own betterment.
The other group opposes the common man in fear of loosing its own power enjoyed by it with the present situation. It puts them to test to hide their incapabilities in fair performance, their darkened face of corruption, the unending lust for power and authority and personal interest.Mr.Prakash Jha represented the common man, but was not backed by any political party having funds.
The present political scenario in India is not all about fair people representing common man.It also has the unavoiding factor of power. No party in India at present can swipe the elections and come to power all alone. So, here the congress is a bit maligned due to RJD alliance. If it had not done so, chances of BJP or some other party would have put efforts. So, the most unfortunate part for the common man is that- he has no choice. He has to witness his slow and steadily increasing turmoil through either of the party's hands. It is the question of degenration of values imbibed in each individual representing power/authority.

Don't expect too much from people with poorest understandings!
by B.Gautam on May 14, 2004 01:45 AM

It is a wonder that while more and more get multi-graduated day by day in our country, in fact, when a huge effort is on for post graduation, I dont know how are we conveniently displaying ignorance on certain basic factors of life!
For instance, take question of independent secret voting in electronic polling machines by large population of India!
Do we know what are levels of understanding and knowledge of large illiterate population of this country? People dont know because they dont visit remote villages of the country where understanding level is very very poor! Further, their ignorance level has brought them an element of fear psychosis and shy to act before so called elite, enlightened and educated, before whom they had to exercise their franchise! Under the circumstances, they stand stunned, confounded, perplexed and so unable to understand or follow the common instructions, helplessly, before electronic polling machines! This is the case with a pretty large number of remote village populations!
What is the solution? Can we return all of them back without polling? So, perhaps, helpless presiding officers had to help them, though this may be against law!

It is their privilege.
by chanakya on May 13, 2004 12:10 PM

They are paid heftily for that.

It is for the CEC to investigate who they are paid by.

However, in Bihar, except Laloo and Rabri, all are supposedly blind, deaf and dumb.

Prakash Jha should have known this.

In any case, what was the CEC doing when the punching was going on ???

This tantamounts to the death of democracy.

by nanduus on May 12, 2004 05:15 PM

I think its time to act than to talk, enough with this yadav-yadav mafia mess.
They have crossed all limits, took Bihar to a state, even its people hate being called Bihari.

Go on have a revolution, kick them off your state and cleanse the state with love and sincereity

enjoy the freedom

soumik kalita
great effort
by soumik kalita on May 12, 2004 03:33 PM

It was very good interview by a person who really cares for bringing some change to the state to which he belongs .When many Biharis are deserting Bihar (due to strong reasons ) this man tried to fight the elections with the goons fighting him .Seeing the present situation in Bihar we can say that this the worst that can happen to the great historic state of this country, it can`t go any worser .The Biharis like Prakash Jha etc are very talented and they have made a mark in all fields they are in ,there is no reason to disbelieve that this state will again make a come back .The corridors in Delhi are filled with people from Bihar and I am sure every non resident Biharis or even the residents will very soon say that enough is enough and fight their way to throw away the elements that have made the situation if Bihar what it is today .For I believe that Biharis are great fighters and this time too they will make a change .People like prakash Jha ,Satyendra Dubey etc have showed the way ,for the others to follow it is not right to only criticise the state of affairs if one cannot contribute positively ,many revolutions started from this historic state ,there will be one more very soon

i can only ask god just give bihar to enemy country atleast for 10 yrs
by prashant B. Sankaye on May 11, 2004 02:48 PM

i agree with chief election observer this is bihar.criminals rule, they leak papers. then they make mockery of education. even Mr.Zha gods cant change the society which is fed on corruption and crime.i don't know about common man but i have one question for all

' why maharashtra inspite of being independent at same time in same country progress and bihar worsens."
every one in bihar that maens has roots which feed on corruption n crime. even biharis in maharashtra do the same thing.
if u find noncorrupt bihari pl. inform god too because he is also must be searching.

god give bihar to enemy for 10 yrs atleast. its obstructing indias development. you dont treat gangrene you have to ampute it. pl. ampute bihar its beyond repair.

This is Something
by Vikas on May 11, 2004 06:23 AM

Sir,
With full heart a great congratulation to you.You deserve more applause than 100s of those stars who are good for nothing but collecting crowd (not even mob). It always been suprising to see such a deep apathy towards the state condition and have a clearly mandated government from last 10 year.Which shows what kind of democracy prevails there.
Once Again Kudoos to your courage.

Views of Prakash Jha
by Sharat Prasad on May 11, 2004 05:56 AM

Sentiments expressed by Prakash Jha in his interview about the current state of affairs in Bihar and about the political estabishment of Bihar is shared my most of the middle class and right-minded biharis. Their is total chaos and lawlessness in every walk of life. The whole of India is going ahead with lot of development taking place whereas Bihar is being led into anarchy and total destruction by its current political establishment. I have given up all hope that anything could be ever done to improve the pathetic condition our state is in. Elections are useless as they are never fair. I feel sad for the people of the state who definately deserve better.
