Ram
may GOD save TN
by Ram on May 09, 2004 09:30 PM

TN is perhaps the most corrupt state now (May be Laloo can take that credit). Apart from banning religious conversions (which someone pointed out that it already exists in a different form) and lotteries, she has done nothing so far. No prizes for guessing how she escaped from all the cases. Though his action against LTTE need to be commended, this was in her previous regime, which included all the other scandals as well. BJP would have been better off if they had not combined with her. Right now, TN is in a state, perhaps GOD can save it.

Arajagam or Iron lady?
by P. T Ramkumar on May 07, 2004 07:26 PM

In my opinion JJ should not be called the iron lady. She is known for her arrogance and hasty decisions. We cannot forget that we live in a democratic country.
The state can impose regulations. For example keep an age limit for purchase of lottery. In a democratic society adults should be given a choice.

Without a parrallel in the political history.
by chanakya on May 07, 2004 03:56 PM

A cursory look at the political scenario of not only of just Bharat Varsh but the world at large will hardly yield a parrallel that could match this madam from the silver screen.

Globally there are many - Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, the list is pretty long, but they were all males.

She is perhaps having a natural talent of political, social and all other kinds of tactics that enables her to surpass the litigations and come out unscathed.

Besides her iron structure, it would also appear and very apparently seem that the apex has lately been somewhat quibbling to an extent where an ordinary citizen with little or no knowledge of basic jurisprudence also has started raising eyebrows
in judgements related to this lady and other matters.

What prompts them to quibble is something that needs to be debated. However, Nani is no longer on the scene, and Jethmalani will view it from a legal point of view.

Recent outcomes of the apex make ordinary citizens sometimes wonder about its structures whether representatives of the neighbouring naapaak, Saudi Arabia, Bangla Desh and Dawood Kingdom are sitting on the benches.

Fear of contempt charges makes mum of all.

Biased View

A completely biased - anti-Jayalalitha article. You are talking about Rajiv Gandhi asssination wave getting her as TN CM.. but then what about 2001? How did she got to become CM again? No mention about that.

No CM in India has shown so much firmness in tackling terrorism (mainly LTTE which is the bane of TN).. She has her shortcomings.. but even though the article is know about Jaya, it talks only about the bad things to know about Jayalalitha.
