Shame to all political Parties and Business Houses
by rajeev on May 05, 2004 04:36 PM

The fund that political Parties colloect from business houses is nothing but Blackmail. This is a blckmail which is done openly in daylight and all the people involved in this process enjoy it.The only sufferer is general public who has to pay back this amount to the business houses after election in many forms.

Do not donate to political parties
by sullu on Mar 26, 2004 12:22 PM

No company should donate to political parties why because there are so many candidates in all major political parties with criminal background. The money donated by a company will be going to criminal. First they should give tickets to only qualified persons only not criminals then only company can fund that should be rules.

amount spent on elections by parties
by r.sathyanarayanan on Mar 26, 2004 11:49 AM

sir,

it is all very nice to say that parties should collect their donations only by cheques etc,but practically it is not so.the black money gained is given to parties for elections.
I am also surprised to note that when parties are spending so much for elections, why they are not settling their telephone bill etc ?The election commission should also moniter the functions and dues to be settled by them regularly, than coming in to supervising the parties only during elections.

Further, when the parties claim that they are in politics for serving the common man and claims all their rights to contest in elections etc., practically, the common man does not see any responsibility or duties on the parties corresponding to their right what each party claims.
Hence i suggest, each party should be compeled to do some social projects exclusively, on their own without depending on the government, such as adopting a village to meets its essential needs - irrigation, providing free education, running an industry for creating employment, running an hospital for poor etc. By doing these, the equal responsibility can be fixed on them to keep the registration with EC.

From where does money flow
by Avinash on Mar 25, 2004 12:48 PM

It is a well known fact that crores of rupees are spent during elections. The big question is "From where does the money flow from?". The answer also seems to be simple "From industrialists and business houses". But how does the corporate world manage to supply crores of rupees on political parties is the big question. It may be to acquire the Goodwill of political parties. Are the investments made on elections accounted by industrialists? In the books of accounts it may not a place, but definitely it finds a place in the books maintained by the Chairman of the company. He would definitely expect a great favour from the party he has supported in case it wins the election.
