age of Lok Sabha Members
by M.V.Subba Rao on Apr 07, 2004 05:43 PM

As long as greed drives peple to enter into electoral politics there is no way to get rid of old fellows from the political scene. There should be an upper agelimit to contest the Lok sabha elections. Oherwise people will continue to contest ireesspective of their age, thereby leading to the increase of the average age of Lok Sabha members

average age in lok sabha
by Geeta Ramani on Apr 04, 2004 12:14 PM

The av age in the lok sabha was lowest in 12th at 44 years and highest in 13th at 56 years. There must be an upper age limit at 6o years (retirement age in Public sector for employees). This way we will have a mix of young and old.Contesting at 60 will lead to retirement at 65.
Also for contesting to lok sabha the party must have at least 5% seats (each) in two states.
The contestant must have at least a bank balance of Rs 25 lakhs for lok sabha. this means that no candidate can contest as a pauper. It is foolish to think that when normally Rs5 crores are being spent on a lok sabha seat by major parties, how can one contest with zero money or with small amounts?? eradicate corruption at source.

Politics should be in a Professional way and given to Youngters
by T.Prakash on Apr 03, 2004 10:54 AM

Old people should retire and in 1947 the avg is around 45..This should be around 40..IN which the Thinking and Actions will be Quicker and Bolder to take the Development and we can reduce corruption..

More experiance the Politician More corrupt they are.

Lot of Freedom Fighters lost there Lives and Property for our Mother India to be Free.

But Now everyone is now striving and crying for there own selfish goals.
India should be given to the shoulders of Youngters who will do Politics with real couragious way and to develop Mother India

Can we trust all these "Budhe Log" to run our country properly? At least 99% are out of touch with the realty. They are simply unable to gauge the aspirations of youth.
