Seeing the deluge of filmstars and celebrities joining politics, I wonder if there is a new found symbiotic relationship between the two, with the political party pulling wool over the eye of an unsuspecting illiterate vote bank, and getting the vote through a person they see daily on TV ( but don't know if the same person would fulfil their long unmet needs).On the other hand, the celebrity gets paid(??)for canvassing for the party, and has an option when his/her luck fails on screen. They mouth high sounding plastic goals and ideals in front of the press,saying that they have always wanted to work for the party.One wonders why they didnt put it into practise till now. In my opinion, they should not be allowed to join a party before the elections,unless they have done social work in the community.This would deter those without serious intentions.Filmstars should take more responsibility for their actions especially since they tend to be emulated more often.
