across all party affiliations, is a part of the model code of conduct.

But the saffron boys want to have their own way and hoodwink the CEC.

And they will be thoroughly successful.

They have a field day after all, and an obliging CEC it seems.

What is Code of Conduct?
by N.Dharmeshwaran on Mar 04, 2004 07:16 PM

It is a model to follow, inspire and
more important,to emulate;it is
not a rigid rules and regulations
imple compliance of what is stated
therein would do.
It is a test stone of your political
character and conduct.
The question is what you do is
honourable and not merely complies
with the Code.

MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT
by vrkalyanakrishnan on Mar 04, 2004 01:47 PM

The Election Commission needs to implement these code of conduct strictly. There is no use having them on paper. Also, the Election Commission needs to do much more, like having a strict watch on expenditure of candidates, steps to prevent bogus and proxy voting etc.

Why only during Elections!!!
by Srinivasan Badrinarayanan on Mar 04, 2004 12:51 PM

I would like to mention that the Model Code of Conduct is being implemented only during elections which is hardly for 3 months.

My veiw is that the same should be applied more strictly during the time when the goventment is under power for 5 years!!!

model code of conduct.
by sanjeev singh on Mar 04, 2004 12:45 PM

model code of conduct is a welcome preposition to rein in the various hues of political leaders and govt officials.the steps detailed above come in to force as soon as the elections are declared but this is surprising why this model code of conduct does not remain in force through out the year to convey the true spirit and import of the phrase??
it definitely proves the falling level of morality across the whole political spectrum and that they start behaving properly only when they are forced to do so.
are they really the true leaders to the masses???
