regarding dates
by rkmishra on Feb 29, 2004 06:16 PM

dear friend, I would not prefer too much gap between two poll's dates.specially in northen states you are holding in four phases what is fun, it will be better if you could hold the elections in these states in two phase only proving not too much gaps between two polls, it should be only 2-4 days gaps it will cover whole security system, as in the past elections in they took only 2- 6 days in between. My suggestion is this it should not prolong too much time between the two polls. This is absolutely wrong to hold in such a long time to complete the elections, what is fun in this, i could not understand this joke to hold election process so long and tiring( 20 April to 10 May, exact 20 days to complete. this is great foolishness on part of election commission. You must hold election in field area in two dates only i.e 20 April and 26 April and in hilly areas you can hold in only in date i.e around 4 May to 6 May. I would be grateful if you dont change the shape of democracy by dictating your term to the Govt. Thank you.

Elections to Loksabha
by sanjay wawale on Feb 29, 2004 03:47 PM

Elections imposed on the country 6 months prior completion of the term indicate selfish motive of ruling NDA Govt. The Hurricane of advertisements being poured misusing the Tax payers money confirm the shameless attitude of BJP and its alliance partners. The inclusion of many filmstars in the campaign proves that BJP knows that it doesn't have any crowd puller and it has nothing to convince people on genuine issue of public interest. It is a shame to the Democracy of 67 crore voters to witness so called leaders shuffling the political parties with out any ideaology. It should be mandatary that the person contesting the election of the party ticket should be the member of that party contineously for preceeding 365 days minimum. If the elected member joins the ruling alliance after election, he should not be given any ministerial berth. This would help to abolish the malpractices which are seen now a days. The sale of Public Undertaking corporates during the election year should be stalled since it raises many doubts about the intentions of ruling NDA alliance.
