None can prevent them from entering, as, till such time, they are convicted, they continue to enjoy all rights of any and even citizen. But,at least let us not have criminals as Ministers. Let the SC direct the President to ensure this.
A debate on whether a rogue in jail can contest in an election shows the blatant state of values and principles and so called democratic stature of the largest democracy in the world. But yes Pt Neheru also went to jail and became PM of India. Yes thats a great point for debate but only for debate. We all know that a comparison between Pt. Neheru and the present days rogues in jail is ridiculous. Its time we realize that democracy also bestows us with responsibilties and letting a prisoner contest elections is outright slap to the very essence of it. I would suggest that anu political party giving a ticket to such people should be baned. People need to be made responsible for their actions. But how many of you reading the article actually exercised your democartic rights?
The decision of the Hon'ble Patna High Court cud never have come at a better time. It needs to be implemented by the toothless EC immediately. Toothless coz the EC and its obsorvers have been mute spectators to Laloo Yadav's tamasha in Bihar. Cum On EC show sum Spine.

The debate about the subject of the eligibility to contest or vote in an election, for the prisoners is like, 'Which came first - Egg or the Hen ? '
