A quick guide to EVMs

A simple question : How does the EVM make sure that a voter is pressing the Blue button only once? What happens if a voter tries to press the button more than once.

Think about this scenario. A voter goes in the booth to vote. He see the EVM. He makes up his mind for who he wants to vote (if hes not made it up already) and presses the corresponding blue button. He is now waiting for the red light. There is a time delay (lag) from the time he presses the blue button and the red light is displayed. So he thinks it did not work. Now he again presses the blue button and right than the red light goes off. The result: He loses his valuable vote.
The engineers who have devised these EVMs wont be that stupid to overlook such an event but its always better to make sure.

Well
If the voter presses, the blue button twice, then his/her vote is cancelled
