It is erroneous to say that only if you are in power, you can develop your constituency. Congress was in power for nearly 50 years and it could not develop the country and the two constituencies (Amethi and Rae Barelli) to the degree that the development would have taken care of itself. And for the people to say that they are still better off than most of the other areas in U.P. gives a picture that it was not bad after all. But, if I correctly remember, Rae Barelli and Amethi has been with the Congress party either with Nehru/Gandhi family or its nominees, so why the tears?
