No, there is no slippage.

He is definitely not slipping.

Sleeping he definitely is whenever he wants to deliberately avoid a particular issue.

Even in his sleep he would register everything but would do nothing to take a corrective action.

The IIM imbroglio is one of such issues requring PM's intervention on top priority; however, it seems he is reluctant to make matters tilt either side as he appears to be too unsure how his actions would be interpreted by the pollsters though few know about the IIMs and yet fewer the implications of a virtual "nationalization" of these institutions.

The beneficiaries, in the meantime, are Murli and those two heavy-headed bureaucrats in his ministry.

Maybe Atal is conserving his energy to be super hyperactive once the new government is duly installed and he is at the helm of it.

The contemporary Raja never interfered with the working of the Nalanda though a lot of funds used to be regularly poured in into Nalanda from the coffers of the Rajya.

PM often talks abt the Rajdharma.

Let us hope that he would discharge his Rajdhrama towards these moden day Nalandas - the IIMs, and prevent them from being desecreted by Murli and his hoodlums. J Hind!

PM Bajpayee is slipping
by Chandra Prakash on Apr 16, 2004 11:57 PM

It is becoming clear day by day that Bajpayee ji is
too old and his reflexes are failing. He takes time to grasp things when told by his associates suddenly. His memory is failing to the extent that he has started slipping if not prompted too frequently, which is the sign of advanced old age. He rightly was unwilling to fight election this time as he disclosed at lucknow. It is the party functionaries who prevailed upon him to fight election so that atleast once more they feel they will be able to garner votes
on his name, otherwise ,they know they will fail to present the moderate image of BJP and have no chance to win. In that case party will not get second term in office. They have tried to take care of their fears by prevailing upon ailing Bajpayee ji to contest and may be thereafter after wining they may spare him and bring Advani in forefront which otherwise Advani cannot achieve at his own by leading the party. This is BJP's strategy.

Yes, he is slipping
by Shivi on Apr 16, 2004 11:16 PM

He is old. He cant be expected to be at his physical and mental best now. What I do think is it should not drive people away from the BJP because even he was once considered a fanatic. Today BJP has several promising prospects and one of them should come ahead to become a strong candidate for the position of the PM. And I dont just mean Advani, but Jaitley, Swaraj, Uma, Naidu, the list goes on.
The BJP is built on several leaders, not just one like Sonia who dominates and sidelines anyone else who is promising. After the deaths of Scindia and Pilot, Mrs. Dixit showed promise but today is very unhappy how things are going on with seat arrangments.
