good governance
by tvs narayan on Apr 15, 2004 09:17 AM

The TDP no doubt is doing excellent work for the people of the state.
Rural people, particularly farmers are feeling inadequate power supply, frequent power cuts and lack of adequate farm prices. confidence of farmer and the villager should not get eroded.

Advancements in IT E-governance are well appreciated. Keep up the good work. We will again vote for you only, in the interest of the state.
Congrats and best wishes.

Know about Telugu Desam Party (TDP)
by Aravind on Apr 15, 2004 08:41 AM

Hi!

There is a mistake in the following point:
*****************************************************
A film star in politics. How did he fare?

NTR built his Telugu Desam Party with the support of media baron Ramoji Rao, who owns Eenadu, the largest circulated newspaper in the state, and Congress dissident Kotla Bhaskara Rao, who later staged a coup against NTR in August 1984, with Indira Gandhi's help, and became chief minister for a while.
*****************************************************

In the above narration the person name is Nadendla Bhaskar Rao. Not Kotla Bhaskara Rao

You guys at Rediff never get anything right about Andhra. It was Nadella Bhaskar Rao who staged a coup and not Kotla Bhaskar Rao (And it is Kotla Vijaybhaskar Reddy and not Bhaskar Rao)

Seeing is believing I guess in AP!

What this so called "CEO" of Andhra Pradesh does is,get loans from IMF,World Bank and others. Project as if he's developing the state. When the Congress party which was in government for say 35 years and brought loans amounting to 11,000 crores in their span, this honorable CM has achieved the dubious distinction of making it to 39,000 crores in his first term as the CM of AP that ended in 1999. God only knows where have we reached by this year! Whereas the other states are achieving most of the foreign investment and projs without making a fuss abt it,this guy makes more noise going around beating drums abt his achievements which are negligible. Building flyovers worth 300 crores(at the most), doesn't know where to end a flyover, but he spends money on it, and no one can account for the rest of the money. One MLA says that the farmers are committing suicide expecting exgratia from the government. That's the plight of the state. Declares that he's adopting Mahaboobnagar district(drought struck) in 1994. Till now nothing has been done to restrict the migration of ppl from this district, whereas he spends 231 crores in his own constituency in a single year.
GOD save that state!

There was no Kotla Bhaskar Rao. It was Nadendla Bhaskar Rao that left TDP to join Congress. Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy was a local congress man all his life and never joined TDP.

Naidu also has age and brains on his side. He is supposed to be a very good administrator, something that makes up for his lack of charisma.

No need to mention community !!
by madhu on Apr 14, 2004 11:58 PM

Rediff's effort to publish the information about the Telegu Desam party must be appreciated. But to mention the community of the NTR and the community of Ramoji Rao is not necessary. Its suggests that TDP is a party build by people of one community. I feel sorry for the author of the article, because he/she cannot see a person beyond the community he belongs to.

Your article about TDP need not mention the community of NTR or any other person at all. Looks like you are trying to suggest something which is not there.
