About the Manifesto
by Anadi Athaley on Apr 14, 2004 10:44 PM

I think Congress can make a fare government. The roads and other yojna's which PM Vajpayee claimed theirs is actually the gift or the debt from World Bank. Its not an achievement of the NDA govt.

There is hardly any sigficant difference in the promises. The real question who can and will deliver?

They all talk the same thing basically
NDA's agenda= Congress's agenda - Ayodhya
it matters who the voters believe will most effectively carry out the process..and will succeed in doing something for the country

Promises
by Ravishankar on Apr 11, 2004 09:10 PM

Most of the points mentioned in NDA and Congress' manifesto have been repeating for a couple of decades now. This clearly shows that the promises in the past have never been kept. The point regarding Employment seems to be deceiving, NDAs promise to create 10 million jobs an year seems to be totally dependant on the BPO wave. The congress' "legal guarantee" for 100 days seems like a positive step to support rural population, but time will prove its credibility.

One important point that should have been addressed in the manifesto, is to make amendments to expedite the functioning of Judicial System.

Over all, NDAs manifesto seems an agressive one but little over-ambititious, as always drafted by an incumbent party who are confident of retaining power. Where as, congress is trying to be more bureaucratic and 'stick-to-the-tradition' kind of stuff by attracting the rural and low income group.

Atleast Cong. makes 10% of their promises come to reality. But BJP is the worst of the lot of the all political(National) parties in India.

Reg: BJP, atleast, has a good imagination which Congress doesn't
by tjpian on Apr 11, 2004 02:28 AM  | Hide replies

I think Congress seems to have afficted by inferiority complex. It doesn't have as much as enthu or the imagination which BJP has. Nobody knows whether they are implement all of them are not, but atleast someone who thinks big might do a bit.

It would be interesting to see what would be their manifesto if they lose election and sit in the opposition. This is very important because whatever they do as a ruling party, they oppose the same when they become opposition.

But my dear i think just having xtra large dreams doesnt make a country progress. The dreams should be concrete.

I think Congress has better dream and even better vision for India and NDA govt is just taking the profit of Congress' concrete steps in the past.
