Elections increases interaction between citizens and the leaders
by Vivek Kumar Agarwal on Apr 09, 2004 08:53 AM

Elections are the time when leaders go out to people and talk with them. Elections are the time when leaders think about their mistakes and tell people the good decisions they have taken. In this process, other parties also take out each other's mistakes. The biggest advantage is that it increases the awareness of the common people. Right now Mr Advani is travelling length and breath of India meeting people. Travelling so much and giving 4 to 5 speeches per day is a very challenging task and they should be appreciated for that. In my opinion money spent over their travel is nothing in front of the awareness which these leaders causes among people. Let us appreciate them and not criticize them.

EVERY THING I DO, I DO IT FOR YOUR VOTE.

This best describes the politician in India today to whichever major political party s/he may belong.

-----------------------------------
The constitution should be amended if required yet one more time to:
(1) ban anybody from contesting any election who crossed 75 years of age.
(2) disqualify anybody born and brought up outside India till the age of 18 years irrespective of his or nationality to occupy any post/job ranked higher than a minister in a state government.
